Trump claimed over the weekend he's done more for blacks than Abraham Lincoln.  That's just absurd, I hope we can all agree.

Trump's biggest drawback isn't Trump himself, but it's that he really seems to encourage jackasses, but If I were a black, I'd trust Trump over the Republican Party.  That's a fine line and it doesn't help those people when voting for Trump, but I think he's got a cleaner slate than the Republican Party (I know..I know.."BuTLinCOLNWAS A REpubLICAN!!!!!!!").

Black men are nearly three times more likely to vote for Trump this election and black women are twice as likely.  It has little to do with what Trump has done.   What is has to do with is the more people of all colors are seeing the abuses of power of the authoritarian state which has been far more brazen in recent years, especially with all of these absurd politically-motivated trials against Trump.  

Real Americans do no want to live in a surveillance state where we have no protected rights of speech, self-defense, privacy, due process, or equal treatment.

I have a few black friends that will vote for trump and for the same reason that white people will vote for trump. They believe the issues they care about the republican's will do a better job on and that neither side is great.

Not sure why this is so surprising. Not all black people are the same and lumping people into groups based on their skin color is something we need to move past.

Previously in this thread I conceded Lincoln.  That's a no brainer.  I also asserted a time frame of 50 years for Trump.  Both Johnson and Eisenhower predate that time frame.  And you want to give Obama the win because he's black, which is only half true anyways.  But you want to give him the win just for getting elected so for the same reason he won a Nobel prize.  Man our standards have fallen.

4. Federal regulation in order to combat several southern states attempts to weaken the Voting Rights Act in order to weaken black voting: Biden and the Democrats are in favor, Trump and the Republicans are opposed.
