Trump looking at Musk as policy advisor

Recommended Posts

I was going to comment on this.  Gutter thinks Elon is a "right wing nut job." I imagine Vox told him that.  Elon nailed it years ago; anyone right of Marx is a right wing nut job to Lefties like Gutter.

Exactly.  The Center and Right never move... the Left gets further and further left and they call out everyone else for being extreme.

I've seen that graphic before. I would argue that the right has moved further right since 2008 as well. Not sure what that would to Musk's overall standing.

Let’s see. In 2008 the right was against gay marriage. Now they don’t care.  The right was the major war machine. Now they are the only side speaking up against the wars.  The right was way more religious. Now atheists are welcomed

So republicans aren't corrupt is what you're saying.  You're fine with the relationship because a republican would never act in a corrupt manner.

Every politician is corrupt.  It's why the everyday conservative citizen wants the government involved in less things.  You seem to think it's only Republican's that are corrupt, because you're calling out Trump for something he didn't do while still voting for the people who actually do it.

This is, IMO, a delusional analysis. If Ronald Reagan were alive today I believe he would strongly consider voting for Joe Biden, or at the very least abstain. He would NEVER vote for Donald Trump.

Interesting, because if someone ran on the same policies today that Bill Clinton ran on, he'd be considered a Republican.

I tell you what if Trump or the rnc tells Twitter what to censor then you can check back here.

Already happened.

But again, I don’t have an issue with Musk being an advisor

I’ll take it. If Trump is elected (I hope I hope I hope it doesn’t happen) he needs somebody besides Stephen Miller to give him advice. Say what you want about Musk (I can’t stand the guy) but at least he’s not a moron.

Many people are saying the legendary social media pundit and patriot Catturd2 will be a trusted advisor.  Sweet.

As usually, you are all jackasses and bootlicking buffoons who don't get it. I really could give a fuk about the source or credentials of advice, but the substance.

- Does the advice promote freedom or suppress it.

It is that simple.  None of you fockers can think for yourself.

I'm just speaking as someone who voted primarily Republican for a long time and would've been in between Elon and the person on the right in 2008 and have seen some of the things in the party move away from me (primarily because I'm more socially liberal than most).

As a centrist I think both sides have moved more towards their extremes leaving a lot of people in the middle feeling like they aren't being respected for their opinions.

I would agree that conservatives are more vocal than they used to be.  Two possible reasons come to mind.

One, social media and the interwebs have made it much easier.  We used to rely mostly on MSM, which always leaned left.  There weren't many conservative voices, other than folks like Rush Limbaugh, the original Satan's spawn boogeyman of the Left (the title of which obviously belongs to Trump now).

Two, I think we let progressives have too much control, causing too much change too fast, and a "wait, wut?!" reaction from the right.  Change CAN be good, but change for change's sake isn't necessarily good.  Most normal people can look back on gay marriage and say yeah, nothing wrong with that, I'm glad we worked through that.  And besides, it doesn't affect me or society in general.  But now we want medically mutilate confused children? (I know, I hate trans people...)?  Now we're impacting innocent children.  History will not look back kindly at stuff like this. (actually, it probably will, because the Left will write it and they will say "oh well, we meant well!").

Elon Musk’s father Erroll Musk had two kids with his own stepdaughter. Maybe Trump likes the Musks because he would also like to fock his own daughter?

Wouldn’t mind his input on stuff like manned space programs (which we’ve basically privatized) and trade

Alright so when the govt made suggestions to twitter on spreading misinformation, the right cried about how the govt was supressing free speech.

Now a right wing nut job bought twitter, and Trump wants him as policy advisor.  So the govt will employ the guy who runs twitter, but of course the govt will have zero influence on twitter content.  Do I have that right?

☝️ This guy doesn't seem to know the difference between the "govt making suggestions" on how a private business should operate and a businessman advising the govt on how it should operate.

Just waiting for the usual clown car of shills, RRLLD, HT and Emperor Jon to show up this time to tell us "it's different".

Well it is different. It couldn't be more different. It's the exact opposite. He would be advising the govt. on how they could operate better.  Not the govt telling him what to do with HIS business.

Sure, Trump isn't going to tell him that he wants more pro trump content on twitter and critical trump accounts banned in exchange for govt contracts.

Why is Musk a right wing nut job?

Care to explain the reasons you come to this conclusion?

I wonder if Musk would try to use the position to get contraacts for SpaceX with NASA or for Tesla with any of the various federal fleets of vehicles.  I can picture Tesla postal trucks in my neighborhood.  They would be sold as quiet and nonpolluting, just an extention  of green deals, when what they would be is graft.

I could definitely see this as a motivation for Musk.  Maybe also trying to get Trump posting on x again.

Everytime you think you think you know what conservstives think, you get it completely wrong.  Reagan was very anti-regulation and favored smaller government except on issues of law and order and the military.  Reagan absolutely trusted the military and the FBI/CIA, which ended up burning him in the whole Iran-Contra fiasco.  If Reagan saw what the FBI-CIA was doing as far as censorship, criminalizing conservstive protests, influencing elections for pro-establishment types, he would have buried them and been 100 percent behind Trump.  Reagan loved individual freedom and would never ever ever ever ever bootlick for an big government estsblishment fascist like Biden. You be you, but don't you even try to drag Reagan down to your disgusting levels of cuckhood.

As usual you’re completely wrong about this subject. Maybe stick to the Detroit Lions and stay away from political history? You don’t have a clue about Reagan or what’s going on now.

Wait... a lifelong Democrat such as yourself thinks they know how Ronald Reagan - a Republican - would vote if he were alive today?

And you say I'm the delusional one?   GTFO, Tim.

There is no doubt that the left has moved much, much further left than the right has moved further right.  That's not even debatable.  The only reason it looks like the right has moved further right is because your side is moving so far left.  Think of it as two ships.  One stationary - the Right - and the other moving away - The Left.  As you keep moving further away the Right ship looks smaller and smaller in the distance and instead of correctly thinking "We're moving so fast the other ship can barely be seen", you say "They're moving so fast they can barely see us", even though the Right ship isn't moving at all.

Just to correct you: I’m not a lifelong Democrat. I’ve actually been both a Republican and a libertarian much longer than a Democrat. My first, and possibly proudest vote ever was for Ronald Reagan. I have visited the Reagan Library 4 times and it is one of my favorite places to go. He was my favorite President and the best since Truman.

Well, y'know, GutterD0uche isn't the brightest bulb in the far-left shed.  He's a follower, not a thinker.  He gets his glory hole talking points from his masters at the plantation and just goes with that - no thinking necessary.

Tim: I voted for Ronald Reagan once 44 years ago!

Also Tim: I have since voted for Democrats, defended Democrats, defended and pushed Democrat policies ever since.  I'm not a liberal!!

I think that about sums it up!

I would define myself as a social liberal, and a traditional economic conservative. I believe in free trade and open immigration. So did President Reagan. The Republican Party has moved away from me, and him.

No, it's his endless attacks on "wokeism", his making "cisgender " a slur on twitter, amplifying and allowing the proliferation of nazi and white supremacist accounts, the endless childish memes, attacks on vaccines, etc
