So I did a little more research on the subject this morning. This kid winning was the first time a  trans athlete has won any HS state championship.  Also, because of privacy laws the exact numbers aren't known but estimates put the number of trans athletes competing at less than 100 nationwide in H.S. (I don't know if that includes former girls in boys sports). 

Leads me to a few conclusions. The first being this is being completely overblown as an issue. There are probably more trans threads on the board just this year than there are trans athletes.

My 2nd conclusion is that being that number is so few, I wouldn't be opposed stopping the participation of trans-athletes until a workable equitable solution can be found. I'm not in favor of any discrimination, but I'm also not so strident that I think we need to change the rules to accommodate such a small group of people. 

IMO, this is really a non-issue being used to inflame conservatives.

Boys started winning girls state track championships with Connecticut in 2019. 2024 has five states with transgender champions. Transgender athletes leave girls in dust by winning track-and-field titles in five states - Washington Times

And if you'd ever played sports like track, you'd know, even the best girls could absolutely not compete with us. The time recorded for the girls' state champion in Michigan in 1989 would not have been able to qualify for the Macomb All-County meet. Every boy there, including me, would have finished ahead of her. Just as any boy there with the temerity to put on a wig could have been state champion.

#2 nails it.  If the number is so low then just do away with it.  Shouldnt be that difficult.  Of course you would get pushback from liberal virtue signaling parents in the district that want to complain to show how good and tolerant they are.

My bad on the championships.  The headline said it, but "WA's first transgender high school track champion ..." and my brain just saw the first trans state champ...

And I did run track and I know that, that's why at this point I have "transitioned" to prohibiting them until much more research is done and we can decide how/if the playing field can be leveled
