Tennessee woman awarded nearly $700K after being fired for refusing COVID-19 vaccine requirement

Recommended Posts

A federal jury found that Tanja Benton "proved by a preponderance of the evidence" that her decision to refuse the vaccine was based on a "sincerely held religious belief," according to the settlement obtained by WTVC.

For a total of over $687,000, the jury awarded Benton more than $177,000 in back pay, $10,000 in compensatory damages and $500,000 in punitive damages.

No one should have been fired for refusing the vaccine. IDGAF what kind of "role" they had. We lost a lot of great healthcare workers due to this "mandate" and they never returned to their jobs; we have a health care crisis due to that.

If I own a company, I don't want someone who deals fact-to-face with the public, infecting them with COVID because of their refusal to take a vaccine.

That's up to you then, I guess. But at this point we pretty much know that the vaccine did very little to stop the spread. In fact, given the number of vaccines we've had, boosters, etc. people are still getting COVID just like the common cold or flu.

Hence, it's not a vaccine. It's a flu shot.

It has been proven that getting the shot did not stop the spread of Covid And it did not stop you from getting Covid. So what is the point?

Good for her.  I hope more people are able to get some money from being treated like crap because of the vaccine.

According to the article in the OP she did not:

Quote

Benton, who worked at BCBST from 2005 through November 2022 primarily as a bio statistical research scientist, said in her lawsuit that her job did not include regular contact with people, WTVC reported. She said she only interacted with 10 to 12 clients each year and sometimes those occasional interactions were not in person.

The lawsuit also noted that Benton never had contact with patients as part of her job.

allowing a private business to mandate a medical procedure to get/keep a job is something that should be protected by the govt, the govt allowed that, therefore responsible as well

Not true. But it reduces the likelihood of getting COVID and if the vaccine was completely ineffective as some people are claiming, then there would be no point in anyone taking it.

Youre the one claiming the vax protected you.  So if thats true, if you git the vax, why would you care if someone didnt?  Youre protected

If it doesn't work, then why fire people for realizing it doesn't work and not getting it? And sometimes if you take the shot, it may even kill you?

"Vaccine" given to hundreds of millions of people yet the Covid 19 spread to the majority of people across the entire world anywhere, and some people think it was a success. Can't fix stupid.
