Small town, rural Minnesota,  and he has the owner of this card come into his shop. It was in raw form and he immediately put it into protective case. Had it graded and is a population 1 with them. PSA has 3 listed. Absolutely surreal.  He's going to call me for a photo-op when it's back.

I have one graded BGS 5 as it's off centered but otherwise sharp corners and edges, and clean surface.

I could have purchased from ebay a BGS 8.5 back in about 2001 for $1,300 but I was second highest bidder. Regretted not bidding higher since then. It was an easy PSA 9 as it was graded at the time BGS was far stricter than PSA or BGS themselves since then,

Sorry. 1961 Fleer Wilt Chamberlain.  The Only "10" in their grading. PSA lists 3 others.

It just got graded and is the only SGC 10 in existence.  I believe I saw a PSA 9 sell for around $200,000.  I believe that easily puts this one well over a million dollar card. . The actual owner is wishing to remain anonymous.  older guy. doesn't want the hassle.

Nice. That should be an easy sell. Many super rich people will want that thing.

Does it go through some certain validation checks to ensure it's not a fake?

I thought Fleer always put out a good baseball product. So I'm not sure why they never got basketball right.

All the major card companies were notorious for releasing misprints...on accident. Or so they said.  I remember finding a Juan Gonzalaz reverse negative that was worth more just because of that. Also. I came here to see a Honas Wagner baseball card but the wilt card is cool too.

SGC is authenticating by grading it. They couldn't grade it if they didn't deem it authentic.

The somewhat bitter irony here is, that I bought 2 of them for around $90 in a single eBay auction sometime in the early 2000s. Knowing I got a great deal, I turned around and sold the 'extra' one for around $100 the following week. Should have held onto it

Kidding aside, really nice.  Does he share the money with the owner, does he get a cut....how's it work.

I haven't had a chance for a sit down to ask him about details, but I do know they gave him some "ownership" in the card. My total guess is he might have received 20%. $340,000. This is total speculation on my part.

it was centered. the surface was pristine with no scratches. the color was perfect. no printing defects.  it's basically a unicorn.
