VP Debate: Vance vs Walz

I make that Walz face whenever I see Max-O post yet another tranny thread. 🌈

One would think that with all the threads about trans that are started here (and how they seem to be brought into other threads that has nothing to do with the subject matter) that this "tranny" threat would be the most important issue on voters minds...yet the moderators didn't mention it nor did Vance think it important enough to even raise the issue.

The last one went a bit further than angry verbal tantrums from sore losers, no? This conservative refusal to acknowledge the difference would be laughable if it weren't so dangerous.

If dems had been responsible for that mess, the talking points in this place would be vastly different.

you can go way back to the beginning

my opinion is if you have a problem with the govt take it to the govt, dont burn down your neighbors store

rioters who injured people and caused damage should be punished, still doesn't take away the facts that ANY person in my mind is allowed to think or believe whatever they want

I acknowledge that people getting hurt sucks, so does vandalism

We don’t GAF about the Fed instigated Jan 6 . Just how many were involved? Some people were punished properly , some shouldn’t have been punished. How is the man hunt for the bomber going?

There is one very conspicuous name missing from the list of the punished. Same guy that's running for pres so he can shut down the investigations into himself. If you can't see the issue there, I can't help you.

I think the “threat to democracy” thing is sort of overblown. I mean, it’s shameful that he’s still making baseless claims of fraud and I guess potentially dangerous to inspire people to act on it like 1/6. But that doesn’t make him Hitler. Democracy will move on even if Trump and MAGAs can’t accept defeat like grown ups.

I think the fact that all of Trump’s modest “successes” were circumstantial, his one term ended in disgrace, and he’s an unserious clown is much more fertile soil.

Well, what most people don’t realize is that the last election came down to a handful of people who had enough integrity to not bow to the pressure campaign that Trump and his supporters put on them. Threatening phone calls, death threats, armed protesters outside their house-were visited upon local election boards in the swing states. And let’s not forget Pence. He stood his ground and did the right thing. If any one of those people had caved, we might have had a different outcome.

Spot on. The man's politics are gross, but Mike F'n Pence is a national hero.

I've never called him Hitler, he's too narcissistic to care about a greater cause, evil or otherwise.

Where he's a threat is what @OldMaid said, P2025, and the mistrust he sews in practically every important institution that holds the country together.

I have to imagine it would’ve gotten sorted even if Dirtbag Don convinced an AG to “find” votes for him or whatever. Many of his fake electors are going to jail.

There was a lot of J6 weirdness. Trump's words and requests that day don't mesh with stoking violent overthrow. The security ball was dropped by Pelosi. You had people carefully respecting the velvet ropes and cloaked agitators finding doors unlocked for them. Election night and the lead up..there are a lot of people (myself included) who believe a significant number of shenanigans went on .

The drama on J6 went down literally just as an interesting constitutional process to explore questions of potential invalidity was beginning.

It's not actually a "pants down" thing.

You will think it is, or isn't, depending on what narrative/propaganda you're more steeped in, and the thickness of the walls in your echo chamber.

My opinion of that day is only informed by video ive watched with my own eyes. Trump supporters kicking gates, smashing windows. Bashing police. And threatening politicians.  It's all on camera.  Yes, Some just walked in and waved after the police gave up.  But the other things happened. Oh and the Confederate flags, gallows and Horn Helmets.  Totally normal.   But i guess all those people in jail (who Trump wants to pardon) are just crisis actors who volunteered to be imprisoned.

Vance posted a paper by the federal reserve that shows that mass immigration does increase housing costs. Dumbass mugs like Hack and Gutterclown couldnt Figure that out themselves.

I’ve always believed it was a handful of hillbillies who Trump whipped into a froth over months of crying “muh fraud” and they got a little overexcited. We see a similar lack of adult self control at the GC on a daily basis.

Well before J6, people of moderate to high intelligence who supported Trump were concerned that Qanon was controlled opposition.

There were a lot of idiots and goobers to activate. And I'm sure some legitimately dangerous, malevolent people.

But the whole thing really stinks of having more dimension than that.

You are assuming that we would have found out about it. If Raffensperger had actually "found" those votes, why would he be compelled to tell us? He wouldn’t. If the election boards had been convinced to throw out Biden’s electors, would it had been questioned? My thoughts are we only found out because it failed.

But let’s say you are right. Wasn’t everything drawn out long enough? Can you imagine the chaos if some or all of it had succeeded?

Maybe I should not believe this because I want it to be true. But I choose to believe the fact that Trump tried everything to flip the election and failed is evidence that it wasn’t ever going to work. And I think it failing last time makes it less likely to succeed this time. I doubt many people are going to stick their necks out too far for Don this time, after many people who did in 2020 are now potentially going to jail.

A lot of "maybe's".  Maybe a lot of MAGA people just heard Trumps's speech and went wild because they are in a cult.    Like if you wanna join a cult for Ed Oneill (he scored 4 TD's in one game at Polk High) id understand that.  But this guy?

It's interesting that you've generated a scenario where Trump could have stolen the election and we'd never have known, yet the very idea that the DNC might have done similar is so ridiculous as to get someone the dehumanizing label "election denier."  🤔

Trump cried fraud after he won in 2016. He cried fraud up to, during, and after the 2020 election. He recently said he’d have won California if there was an honest vote count that year. He will no doubt cry fraud after the 2024 election win or lose.

At this point he is the Boy Who Cried Muh Fraud. :(

Every instance of Trump’s supposed election "fraud" claims were gone over with a fine tooth comb and litigated-which would have involved more than the person/persons who committed such "fraud"- so there’s that. You’re also conveniently leaving out that I left it open that MDC’s assertion was correct.

No they weren't.  Many of the lawsuits were never adjudicated on their merits but thrown out for specious reasons such as "no standing."
