Here come the tariffs

The United States Reciprocal Trade Act (H.R. 735) exists precisely to counter this kind of foreign manipulation. Section 3(b)(2) authorizes reciprocal tariffs against nations like Canada that impose unfair trade practices while hiding behind propaganda. Reagan’s actual 1987 speech opposed tariffs as harmful, but the Ontario ad fraudulently edited his words to undermine Trump’s America First trade strategy.

Canada charges up to 400% tariffs on U.S. dairy while flooding our markets with cheap goods—exactly the imbalance this bill targets. Terminating negotiations isn’t escalation; it’s enforcing reciprocity.

When foreign governments weaponize misinformation to sway U.S. policy, decisive action is mandatory.

Trump: CANADA CHEATED AND GOT CAUGHT!!!They fraudulently took a big buy ad saying that Ronald Reagan did not like Tariffs, when actually he LOVED TARIFFS FOR OUR COUNTRY, AND ITS NATIONAL SECURITY.

Reagan:

We have never and will never have anyone as dumb as Trump in any position of power.

You are so loyal to the OMB doctrine that you try to give comfort and aid to a foreign country over your own. That shows real dedication

It is patriotic to dissent in support of your country.  It takes a real American to stand up for what is right.

You forgot to mention that it was a FAKE AD designed to mock THE UNITED STATES.

"The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute said the Ontario government created an ad campaign using 'selective audio'"

@The Real timschochet @Ron_Artest

CAUGHT LYING AGAIN!!!

The foundation didn’t explain how it was fake or out of context. Perhaps you can.

You support Canada applying tariffs on us but don't support us putting tariffs on them?

I don’t support either. If Canada wants to punish their consumers, that’s their business. It’s stupid. I don’t think we should retaliate by punishing ours.

Poll shows the voters now trust Democrats more than Republicans when it comes to the economy, for the first time since 202o when there was a brief blip, prior to that goes back another 6 years.

Trump is really focking things up.

The election shows that Trump is president.

Nice. Good opening to the negotiations. It’s what you do when you have leverage. Gutterboy doesn’t get it. He’s been wrong about so much.

Things are great. Tariffs are working, ICE is working, markets are cruising along nicely, everyone except liberals are thriving.

Still only in Trump's first year. This is awesome.

U.S. and China have the framework of a deal:

https://www.reuters.com/world/china/ustr-greer-says-trade-talks-with-china-moving-toward-agreement-leaders-review-2025-10-26/

This is big news. And excellent news. If it goes through it will be the one bright spot in Trump’s otherwise disastrous trade policies.

Of course what the White House isn’t saying is that Trump is basically backing down and surrendering to all of China’s demands- some negotiator! Even so that’s good for us.

I've heard this framework of a deal BS before.

I'll believe when I see it

I think it will happen this time because Trump wants to leave the summit being congratulated as a deal maker. It’s all he cares about- not the deal itself but that he gets applauded. The Gaza deal is already falling apart but he doesn’t care, he got his day in the sun.

Whatever.

Any deal that is made will be criticized as terrible, the worst in history, and why we are being treated very unfairly by Trump in a couple years. Rinse and repeat.Let’s have a big announcement that a deal is signed, Donald can pin medals on himself if he likes

Personally hoping for some huge numbers when all the big boys report earnings next week, this coupled with any “deals” with China, maybe mix in hints at some rate drops by the Fed and we have the makings of some 🚀🚀🚀

Then instead of the Nobel Peace Prize he might get Nobel Prize for Economics next year!   :shocking:
