Now, if we're talking specifically about the MAGA cohort, which I am and think you are, you may be partially correct. But even if you (we) are, it doesn't help anyone by throwing that information into their faces. MAGA have been called every name in the book, and that's a big part of their anger and disenfranchisement with politics today. Uppity liberals like us looking down their noses at them, telling them they're dumb, saying we know what's best for them. That condescension is a real problem that we have to overcome to be able to engage our fellow Americans in troubleshooting our way through this disaster.

When I countered that nobody watching Fox News would believe any of the negative findings anyway, he had nothing to say.

I stand firm in my belief that fighting fire with fire is just going to burn everything down. Justify it all we want, but nationwide gerrymandering is a perfect example of how the cure will be worse than the disease.

Anyway, I found and watched the video of his interview with the BBC, just a brief clip.  The idea that there is some secret cabal who views Trump as a heaven-sent instrument to implement I presume Project 2025 or some such, and will find some machination to get Trump back into office in 2028, sounds more like a David Baldacci novel than reality.  But, it's not completely implausible.  After all, nobody knows who really ran the country during Biden's term.  So I will agree that there is a non-zero chance, and all you moderates can continue your sky screaming with my blessing.

Winning the presidential election is the way out. There is still 20-30% of a persuadable electorate. Democrats need to put up better candidates. They’re just as gullible or naive in many ways.
