I have been in and out of many federal agencies for decades now.  I assure you, they can easily reduce their staff by 20% and lose nothing in terms of ability to support and deliver.

This solution seems more like stunt grandstanding. I suspect it will backfire spectacularly, and look forward to seeing how it plays out either way.

I guess I can see your point of view.  But, your POV would make more sense if Trump had not run on this very thing, and setup DOGE months ago to engage it.

This is that rare circumstance where a politician promises something and does it. 

Consider, if you will, how the average voted might look at this.  The money amounts involved and the designation of that money.   And then they hear Democrats decrying this being done.  Its probably not the look a party who wants to return to  power wants to have. JMHO

I think most Americans were pissed about inflation and wanted a change. I doubt what’s happening now is what people wanted. We’ll see though.

Yes, I think your point has merit.  And I think they are justifiably pissed that Biden needlessly fomented inflation then lied about it.  But we are less than a month into the current presidency, should Trump have as much time or less than Biden did to fix the issue? How long....in your opinion...should it take to "fix" inflation that has been thrust into the economy?

That’s a trick question. Trump himself said he’d bring down costs day one. But everyone knows he won’t bring downs costs at all.

It is all that have left.   Trump is delivering on promise after promise faster than anyone could believe.  So now they cling to a few of the hyperbole Trump.  To me massive government reform is the single most important issue that we currently face.

I don’t think I’m achieving anything. I’m predicting that Trump will make a lot of noise but deliver very little, and voters will be tired of it by the midterms.

Maybe I’m wrong and layoffs, tariffs and deportations lower costs matter more to Americans than the cost of food, housing, healthcare etc. But I doubt it.

I see.  So then your goal is to highlight discrepancies, to pronounce evidence that would tend to impugn Trump, where it arises.  And then through this maneuver you hope to enhance the ability of the Democrat Party to secure power.

I have to admit that some of my stances are not that far from your own.  By way of example, for all those months and months Democrats and their media puppets were trying to sell the lie of a good economic situation and I implored them to keep doing it, louder and louder, because I understood just how much it was p!ssing off voters, and in the end Trump could win as a result.

I think you are revising your position here.  You know very well that you were pretending that Trump was going to lower prices on day one, because that was one of him campaign promises.....and so you want to suggest people were stupid for voting for him, based on that one singular point. Maybe this conversation is making that assertion less comfortable for you?  I mean, if that is the case then its a good thing, it speaks to your character.

Like Tim, you have a tunnel vision problem.  And you seem to think voters ONLY voted for Trump because of inflation.  Which isn't to say that those of us who voted for him don't want him to tackle inflation and prices of goods.  But it's only been a month and he's been winning, winning, and winning on almost everything.  That one may take a little time.  But when I see something like the following, and know Biden could have done something but chose not to, I know I made the right choice in how I voted:

I wasn’t pretending Trump would lower prices Day 1. He was. I don’t think many people believed that. But I do think if prices are still high a year or 2 from now, voters will get sick of his chit like last time.
