I keep hearing that funding to USAID is only 1% of the federal budget.  That, IMO, is a distraction.  It matters not what percentage of our budget it is.  The important questions are:  is there fraud happening?  Is there misappropriation?  Are the needs of recipients being weighed against the needs of taxpayers?  Those are the priority questions.

Having said that, we need more than inflammatory statements and hyperbole here.  Expose the fraud and misappropriation and justify the funding cuts.

Why does the US need to give $6B over the last decade to South Africa?  Is SA not a sovereign country?  Is it just to stymie SA’s friendliness with China?  If so, wake up and realize it is not working.
