Whenever the Eagles/Hurts gets mentioned my co-worker brings up the fact that prior to his draft, I was pretty high on him, to the point I wanted the Packers to draft him, 3 round or so. What he fails to remember was I had Hurts penciled in as a GREAT backup QB. You have to remember the Packers had terrible backups for a decade, I wanted them to spend some capital for a guy, who could carry a team for 8 weeks or so if the starter went down-was around the time of Rodgers 2nd collar bone break. . I never thought his ceiling was this high though. IMO - of all his skills, his best one is is his leadership ability. He commands the huddle and the respect of his teammates.
