I’m picking 3rd in a 15 team , 50 round draft & hold . Thats no transactions , you play with what you come away with from the draft. I love the format. Anyways Ohtani is going 1st and think Witt is going 2and that’s where my dilemma comes in . Judge is a no brainer, it’s an obp league , but he’s 33 in April . Jose Ramirez is also 33 but I don’t fear his age like Judge but I’m not leaning his way either. Dam I hate this spot

I played in the past but it's just too much. It's like playing in a dynasty league everyday

10 team AL only. Team is built around Julio Rodriguez who sucked balls last year. Have the Ragans kid on KC to anchor the staff. Hoping he’s the next big thing. Going to break the bank for Witt.

I have Ragans as well in the FBG dynasty league I’m in. He’s 27 , had 2 Tommy Johns. Tread Athletics unlocked him

I play, but I find it rather exhausting though. My leaguemates are much more into it than me, which creates a huge self inflicted disadvantage. I love the draft, but it’s downhill from there.

i've been in a 16 team league since about 2000.. 6x6, hth, with holds. had ragans last year. if i recall, he would have a lot of qs, but it was hard to get the wins= run support and relievers would blow it for him.

Edit: the draft is the worst part for me because it is a slow draft and old school, (with spreadsheets).  so no preselects or players added to rosters when drafted.

Same here but I have a partner that is into it. If he ever stops playing so do I. It’s too much work.

I do and love it. Keeps me paying attention to baseball. Play a weekly league, 12 teams, H2H, with mostly same group of folks for over 25 years.

Me and a few teams pay the most attention which is the most important thing about baseball IMO as it’s so long.

It's changed for me over the years.  I used to get an advantage by running all kinds of spreadsheets for my drafts.  But now so much is readily available online and customizable for whatever your scoring is, daily management is the only way to try and gain an advantage.  Back when I first started, leagues were only Friday-Sunday and you set one lineup.  Then it got to weekly lineups.  But later on with online management options the daily lineup leagues now are the norm.  It just requires a lot more management than the old set it and forget it days where if you were strong enough at the draft, you could almost win your league outright, or at least have the top scoring team locked up from the rip.

I wouldn’t mind playing fantasy baseball again, i find it fun, and difficult in the right league, with the right owners.  Length of the season just made fantasy baseball more interesting.

Ugh. I’m that partner. My buddy brought me into this league over a decade ago bc he couldn’t keep up. At least he pays the entry fee…

Baseball is my favorite sport, but fock, I can’t keep up with it. People are making transactions in the middle of the night, picking up 2-start pitchers 2-3 weeks in advance.

I don’t get how people have the time. We are all in are 40’s now with kids, jobs, America winning every time you move your head. Making the playoffs is a victory for me and I’ll consider it a successful season.

Thats why I like draft and holds, no transactions. You play with the team you drafted. Set the lineup once a week and that’s it

Daily transactions and lineup setting is the best part of fantasy baseball...  What you are doing obviously works for you, but this sounds very boring outside the draft...

My main league is a traditional dynasty however this league is a lot of fun.. This one has relegation, there are 12 different 15 team leagues  . 15 teams and 50 rounds, it gets deep

Great game, I don’t know of anyone doing a live draft, I like gathering together with the other owners drafting, same with ff, boring doing those drafts on line.

But I agree transactions is what makes fantasy baseball worth playing.   Without them, you’re better off watching paint dry.  Indeed

You need daily lineups to stop the two start pitcher stuff. If it’s points based and not roto just have a 6 or 7 start limit from the SP. Players take so many off days in the modern era it’s hard to navigate fantasy baseball without daily lineups.

I miss the old live draft days as well. I used to be in an auction league with 7 keepers. Auction day was always the best. Whoever won the league the prior year bought the pizza and drinks and made an afternoon of it.

Agreed, that was the best part, making an afternoon of it, bbq was on the menu, when the championship team would show up, everyone would ignore that person for a few min.  Just good times.

Who are you guys using for your leagues?  I've always used Yahoo, not sure if there are any better free ones out there.  I'll have to create a team for the year to keep the interest up for myself.  Given up on doing football these days.

Pick 9 in my points league head to head. Hopefully for Elly but he’ll be gone. Probably choosing between Gunnar Henderson maybe Soto or Mookie.

I really like Corbin Carroll to bounce back so may pull the trigger there.
