The pause on tariffs isn't coming without negotiations for better deals for the US. Why are you pretending like that isn't happening right now? A lot of it is about China, but the US will come out ahead with other countries as well. You do want that, don't you?

I dont sit and argue politics all day here so maybe I am out of the loop.  

Maybe there is some angle to this that I havent heard yet. 

But honestly dont understand what Trump is doing.  Tariffs on.  Tariffs off.  Tariffs on.  Tariff pause.  Its almost like hes bored.  Not sure the strategy here.  

That said, the US will never be able to truly try anything different at a risk.  Like Doge.  Is it not good we are uncovering pork and exposing how much we toss around tax payer money for head scratching things?  Transparency is good, most people would agree.  But if it cuts funding for something important, even for only a period of time, just 1 thing, people freak out and want the wool back over their eyes.  

Trump is in a no win situation with Doge and now tariffs.  Even if it were to be proven a good move down the road, it wont ever get there.  And if it does then the Dems will just reverse it back the second they hold power.  Trying to play any longer game in America is suicide for elected officials.

This is why he's doing these things early in his term and quickly implementing them without a slow phased approach.   We will have almost 4 years to get through any court challenges and evaluate the effectiveness of his initiatives.  If they're looking good in a few years it will bode well for his potential successor.
