Everybody is normal until they radicalize.

A lot of people were shocked when a family member or friend went crazy and stormed the Capitol on Jan 6 too. I get it, how did they go from buying Trump t-shirts at rallies to beating up cops and smearing their 💩 on the walls of the Capitol? If only we could figure out who radicalized them… 🤔

Well I can't argue with your logic because of course it would always be best to vet the people entering the country. But as you said, we have no way to know. These people are here legally, so much like our own citizens, we're kind of stuck with them, for lack of a better term. So how about we just deal with that reality? While anecdotal, I can tell you that the issues I deal with from an employment perspective are no more pronounced from that group than they are from other nationalities whether American born or not.

My opinions on this are shaped by my own experiences and interactions. I work directly with several people from this cohort, and have worked with many others in the past. Some are wonderful, hard working folks. Some are a-holes, hooligans, and thieves. I've hired them, written them up, fired them, praised them, and promoted them. They are not going anywhere, and they are now part of the fabric of the state. When I was growing up in this area, the same vitriol was directed at the Hmong immigrants. They were dog-eating, violent savages that nobody wanted or invited, and words like slant and g**k were heard more often than ni**er.

Now they're just Minnesotans.

We may not be able to do anything about the ones here, but we should do all we can to not import more people from problem areas that we cannot possibly vet.  If we followed that policy, we wouldn't have had the problem to begin with.

Armed ICE agents are harassing American citizens in Minnesota. Why aren’t the Minnesotans angry at the president for ordering this?

https://www.mprnews.org/story/2025/12/10/federal-agents-use-chemical-irritant-in-somali-neighborhood-of-minneapolis

Quote

Osman said armed ICE agents went to East African restaurants in the neighborhood Tuesday, closed the doors and demanded people's IDs. They found only U.S. citizens and made no arrests, Osman said.

American is NOT in good company with this “Papers, please” policy. Former Soviets would recognize this government behavior immediately.

Well some of them definitely are. I'm just happy I don't live in the TC anymore and the town I live in is far enough away that hopefully we don't see similar occurrences here.

Munoz-Guatemala is illegally present in the United States. In December 2022, Munoz-Guatemala was charged in Hennepin County with repeatedly sexually abusing a minor. Upon his conviction in September 2024, Munoz-Guatemala was granted a stay of execution on his 18-month prison sentence and was placed on probation for five years.

At the time, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued a detainer to hold Munoz-Guatemala for deportation proceedings. Alpha News previously reported that Hennepin County authorities ignored that detainer and released him back into the public, which led to federal agents attempting to effect his arrest in the community for his removal from the U.S. in June.

What non-brain dead Minnesotans have known for decades. They are not a windfall for the state, as the Democrats keep telling us. If they were, the states who receive disproportionately low numbers of these pirates, would complain that they're missing out.

So some Minnesotans did some pretty ugly things 95 years ago. Does that make my state unique in some way ?

Today the people of Minnesota are much kinder and stand with their neighbors. That was supposed to be the point but I got involved watching the Sabres’ 7th win in a row!

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey denounced the president's comments and said that Somali immigrants have been a key part of the community's fabric for decades. Many are not immigrants. They're second-generation Americans who were born here. Frey said that immigration officials are at major risk of violating the community's constitutional rights.

(SOUNDBITE OF ARCHIVED RECORDING)

JACOB FREY: When people are arrested by federal immigration agents, they're going to get the wrong people. They're going to screw it up so badly that they're not just violating habeas corpus, but they are taking away the rights of American citizens.

SEPIC: Mayor Melvin Carter of Saint Paul was with Frey yesterday at a news conference and echoed those comments.

(SOUNDBITE OF ARCHIVED RECORDING)

MELVIN CARTER: Who he just attacked isn't just Somalis. Who he attacked is Somali Americans. Who he attacked is Americans.

Love to see it 👍👍

They stand by the Somali because they vote Democrat. I'll assume you live in Buffalo ?

Get back to me when things change, & 1 of every 3 Somali brought to the US over the past 3 decades not only end up in your state, but commit a ridiculously disproportionate amount of fraud there as well.

Not everybody in Minnesota is welcoming to new neighbors. But most are. You’re in the minority. Most people in Minneapolis have matured beyond judging people on their skin color or national origin. Maybe you would have enjoyed the state better 100 years ago.

Every Somalian isn't the same, but they are disproportionally associated with fraud, sexual assault and a whole host of other negative ramifications to our society.

But the real problem is us noticing, right?

The real problem is judging all people based on the actions of a few. Same as ever. People over time have said these exact things about all black people, about all Irish people, about all Italian people, about all Jews, about all Native Americans, about all Polish people… etc etc etc.

It’s a symptom of lizard brain bias and lazy thinking. Sadly, it seems like a part of humanity we have a hard time overcoming.

How do you feel about that report ?

Please don't tell me you believe the BS line we've been handed by governor Tim Walz & the previous governor Mark Dayton

That being they admit spending approximately 110 K on each Somali refugee, but after 20 years they've paid all that back + more.

I sincerely hope you're not naïve enough to believe that. A bigger load of BS I've never heard in my life.
