TEL AVIV — Israel has approved a plan for the takeover of Gaza City that includes calling up 60,000 reservists for its expanded military operation in the besieged Palestinian enclave.

The U.S. ally appeared to be pushing ahead Wednesday with a new phase of its war despite international opposition — and in the face of a renewed push for a ceasefire with Hamas.

Defense Minister Israel Katz has authorized the plans for the major new operation, a spokesperson for the ministry confirmed to NBC News. It will also see an additional 20,000 reservists have their service extended, the Israeli military said.

Agreed.  We should instead give more aid to Hamas so that they can make another $500M selling it to their own people at exorbitant prices, and then use the money to rebuild their terror tunnels under schools and hospitals. Then they can take more pictures of the bad Israelis bombing more schools and hospitals, and the American JINOs like the Tims can tell us how bad Israel is.

Has Hamas offered to return all the kidknapped living or dead ...at once?   Why is that never on the table and I always hear something goofy like 1 Israeli hostage for 50 jailed Palestinians?   I get it, its a game, they kidnap people and use them as chess pieces.  Why should any country let that happen to its people?    

Does anyone here think it is possible for Israel and a Hamas led Palestine to coexist?  At all?  How would thr Geek Club go about this neighbor relationship if it were up to them?

My expectation? 
 

Well first I need to distinguish expectation from hope. 

My hope is, as always, that every member of Hamas be exterminated from this Earth, and that the ideology of Hamas, which is evil, dies a quick and permanent death. 

My expectation is that, if Israel occupies Gaza City as planned, much of the current leadership of Hamas will die (which is a good thing), but that like the mythical Hydra, Hamas will rise from the ashes and be more powerful than it’s ever been. I believe this action makes Israel less safe especially in the long run.

That's why I always ask for expectations on Hamas, yet never get one -- TimS's response doesn't address the BEHAVIOR of Hamas.  What should they do?  Return the hostages?  At least the dead ones?  Stop stealing aid?  Surrender?  There is never any behavioral expectation on them from the woke Left.  It's all on Israel because they are the advanced western democratic society in all this.  Except when they are genocidal war criminals, which to TimH is 24/7.

I'm fully on board w/Israel on this one.  Time for the Palestinians to find a different home.  It's telling that even other Muslim countries don't want them and are trying to pawn them off onto Western countries instead.  They are a problem people and cause nothing but problems wherever they go.  This is a Muslim problem and it should be the other Muslim countries dealing with this.

Stop lying.  I’ve said repeatedly that Hamas is worse.  But saying  “hey, at least Israel isn’t as bad as Hamas!” isn’t exactly a ringing endorsement.

I don’t have any expectations of Hamas: they’re the bad guys. I don’t want them to do anything but die.

I mentioned this way earlier in this thread.  The Tims LOVE to complain about what is happening...but offer no solutions other than a cease fire. That's it. Hasn't worked, is exactly what Hamas goes for when they do this.  They hope the western world liberals will scream and cry and force this.  So Hamas can regroup and do it again.  It's tiring

Absolutely, and why in the World would Israel want a ceasefire? That's the last thing they want. There's still a lot of work that needs to be done before this is all over.
