I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest that his point is that the guns were purchased legally.

This.

Why would we shame the seller for … selling a gun to a legal buyer? It’s not the dealer’s job to make a judgment on who should or shouldn’t own a gun other than confirming the legality of the purchase.

I know you weren’t making that point Strike just saying.

Nah. You see a freak come in to buy weapons you do what you can to prevent it. Sorry, computers are down. Come back later.

Yeah, it's an odd stance HT is taking.  Basically wants the gun dealer to be the arbiter of the 2nd amendment.  Not sure that's gonna fly in court, or that I would want it to.

Well I guess you guys are just perfect little citizens, do everything by the book.  Fock that. See a freak do what you can to dissuade them. I bet I could.

We don’t even know if the shooter looked or acted any weirder than anybody else who buys a gun. We’re supposed to shame the dealer for … legally dealing a gun?

What a stupid take.

“Didn’t look any different than any other strange person”. I doubt he put on a sport jacket and khakis when he went to buy the weapons.

Good thing the doors were locked and this freak had to shoot 100 rounds and three shotgun blasts through the windows. Imagine if he could have walked in?

Get working on that.  Until then a little public shaming is warranted.

We had legislation that required mental health background checks but pedo Trump got rid of it.

We didn’t need that law. The gun shop owner is supposed to make the call on which legal customer is safe to buy. 🤡

that was in 2017, 8 years ago, if Dems felt so strongly about it they had plenty of time to re-introduce the legislation

Why not make free speech illegal while we're at it?

Free speech isn’t unlimited. Sometimes restrictions are necessary for public safety. The Oliver Wendell Holmes example of yelling “fire!” In a crowded theater is a prime example. I think we can place certain restrictions on gun purchasing as well, for the same reason: public safety.

I support background checks and not letting anyone who changed their name from Robert to Robin, or similar, buy a gun.  Seems pretty simple.

This is not a good solution. If selling a gun to a mentally ill person is a bad idea in terms of public safety then it should be illegal to do so.

Rusty transitioned to Sandy. He likes to be called Princess. It's his preferred name.

They’ve never been able to get around the filibuster on this issue. Or on nearly any gun control issue.

Who said it was a solution? It’s what I would do. And whats wrong with us knowing where he bought the guns?

But you don't see Trans as a mental illness, even though it clearly is.

Yep. And if it’s legal, why would anyone shame the person who sold the gun? He’s under no obligation to assess the fitness of the buyer. I bet lots of weirdos wander into the gun store.

Let's be real - If we made it illegal for anyone who identifies as the opposite gender as their biological sex to come anywhere near a gun we'd have at least 50 people still alive just in the last five years and a bunch less of these school/church shootings.  But Tim would never go for that, nor should he.   But ban guns.  Hell yeah, top of Tim's list.

Can you clarify your math here please?

This shooting: 2 victims + shooter

Covenant school: 6 victims + shooter

What others?  And if you say Colorado Springs you are not a serious poster.

Bump.  I’ll give you the Iowa one, but even that wasn’t confirmed that I saw.  That’s another 2 victims + shooter which puts you at 13.  Still only about 1/4 of the way to 50.

Bump

I don't get this.  If Trump "got rid of it," then it couldn't have been legislation, because POTUS can't do it.  So was it an executive order?  If so, Tim's response doesn't fly. :dunno:

Gavin Newsom just lost the Christian vote, for sure the Catholic vote.  You had a nice run, you smarmy monorail salesman, but it's over now.

This is so disturbingly insensitive, Trump is probably shocked by it.

What's considered a weirdo?  Cross dressing, wearing makeup, having a sidearm on their hip exposed, wearing a big belt buckle, men with high heels????  Please tell me what a weirdo looks like in your mind.

I think that’s retarded.
