Probably. Let's just say I'm going on years of experience sharing my musical tastes with country fans. They don't usually bite on my favored mixtures of punk, metal, hardcore, EDM, indie, and pop. With just a pinch of jazz and old school country.

OK, there's some overlap here. I have trouble listening to classic rock anymore. I've just heard it all too many times, especially since the stuff I grew up listening to is "classic rock" now.

Reggae is a good one. I'm no super fan, but there's a lot of good stuff out there. Geto Boys, Public Enemy, NWA, old Ice Cube and Ice T solo stuff is good by me.

What are some of the metal acts you like?

That's a good list. Sadly I missed out on seeing most of these live, other than Metallica and Maiden. I'm completely over Metallica other than the first two albums, but I still listen to Maiden regularly. Loved QR and TS. I will forever cherish Eddie Van Halen. Love Anthrax too. And Motorhead. RIP Lemmy.

Seen them about a dozen times. Sadely only twice original lineup.

But going again in 2 weeks. First time ever seeing them perform outside. Don't know why I think it's gonna be anything special. But I'm pumped anyways. Can't wait. Favorite band of all time. (Sorry George Strait. Close #2).

Queensryche is the shizz. They played the loudest show I've ever attended when they played Operation Mindcrime all the way through. Amazing show. Not sure how much I'd like them without Geoff Tate though.

Soooooo. I always say Todd La Torre isn't as good as Tate was through Promise Land. But he's far better since.

If you'd like to try something new. Queensryche has 3 albums out in the La Torre era. The albums are your normal 10 song type thing. But I've found I've really liked more than half of each album. Then of course. If you saw them live. They still play all the classics of course.

Their new stuff has been alot like the warning, or rage. Very heavy. Very vocal. La Torre is very talented and besides taking over the vocals. He also drums alot of the music. He doesn't get the respect he disserves imo. But he also took over for a vocal rock legend. So I get it.

The new stuff is definitely worth a try for you. Even if it's just background music while your getting something done.

I will check that out, thanks. If it's emulating earlier stuff musically I'm on board. After practically wearing out my Operation Mindcrime cassette, I was stoked for Empire. While I still like the album, it was so overplayed I have pretty much ignored it since 1994. Haven't paid much attention to them since.

That was definitely a huge part of the initial split. And Tate talking his wife's side. But then during covid, Rockenfield (it's actually his band) went through marital problems. And from what I heard went batshit crazy. Just pulled an Irish exit, never to be heard from again. Just a giant mess.

AC/DC puts on a loud, professional, rock concert. Cannons during For Those About to Rock would blow your ears out. Angus is a true showman. 

When G&R were tight, which wasn’t often, they put on a good show. But their strength was more in the studio IMO. Axl voice live never really lived up to the studio tracks. Slash is amazing though.
