No I think that many Americans are as stupid as you and will blame Democrats for this.

I admit that you proved me wrong.  This is the dumbest thing I read on the internets today.

If it's not Schumer's Shutdown, then why do both words start with a sh sound?

Clearly, gutterboy is the only person who understands what's going on. Everybody else in the country, including his own allies, are all in the dark.

It must be lonely being the one single person with his level of understanding to post here.

This is so exciting. I can't wait to see what Russell Vought chooses to defund first. 🍿

Should not have replied.  He might be a senator someday.

I am just annoyed that we will still pay everybody. I would support a five year shutdown if we didnt pay out.

Every government worker can go hungry for all I care.

Go pick some crops.

Republicans will win this battle UNLESS- Trump starts firing federal employees. If he does that it could change views (not here; I get that people here may love that. But the American people may not.)

When will everyone realize that there is no two-party system?  The real war is between sovereign people and the globalist digital nightmare.

This would be an angle that gets pushed but there is a big segment of the population that dislikes fed jobs because of pension jealousy .

So incredibly sick of this argument. It’s not true, it’s never been true, and only very small minded people are worried about globalism.

Don’t Congressional Democrats have a 15% approval rating?  Schutting down the government for illegals and trannies should be good for that red tsunami we need next year.

As long as people believe this lie you are correct.  If someone like skids is dumb enough to believe it than many others will too.

The last govt shutdown of significance was 35 days, last time Trump was president, and it hurt his numbers.

I'm not the only person.  Clearly there are others outside the cult that can see what's going on.

It is a shame that you're stuck in this cult with an inability to think for yourself that you just repeat the lies you're being fed.  A useful idiot for the regime.

The lies are in full force this morning.

Nice to see some in the media having the balls to call them out.

Thanks for posting this.  Summarizes it nicely.

@Ron_Artest, your thoughts?

That's the way laws are written.  Most of these things have sunset clauses either so they can be deficit neutral or for other political reasons.  Republicans do it all the time too, it's how things work.  It's like saying "Republicans voted to end tax cuts" in 2016 when they voted for the tax cuts with a sunset date.

Saying "Democrats voted to end them" is disingenuous.  Democrats voted to extend them for 4 years.  That's more accurate.  Get it?

No need to wordsmith it. We accept your terms. Republicans voted to have tax cuts end. Then they voted to extend them. They took a risk and it worked out. Democrats took a risk and of course they miscalculated, well because they are democrats.

They are too busy trying to put men in the womens locker room and have foreigners get elected to positions of power.

Not going to argue with me that the Democrats suck at politics.

Politics aside, Republicans have decided they want to make healthcare more expensive for millions of Americans.

LOL, they didn't renew what was always intended to be a temporary stopgap because of the once in a century pandemic.  Intelligent people understand this.  You follow your MSM marching orders.  Unfortunately, most normies get their news from the MSM, so some of them might fall for the same pablum you did.  But in the end, the American people will see through this.

If Dems cared about the cost of healthcare they would actually do something about the cost of healthcare.  They have done nothing about the actual cost of healthcare.  They just choose to subsidize it to appease their healthcare industry overlords.

Well let's just be clear on the facts here before you dig yourself any deeper.

The enhanced subsidies were passed as part of the American Recovery Act of 2021.  This is the what you are calling a temporary stopgap.

They were extended 3 more years as part of the Inflation Reduction Act.  They were extended as costs rose dramatically during the covid recovery.  Set to expire end of this year.

Health insurance premiums continue to rise.  Coupled with losing these subsidies, millions of Americans will no longer be able to afford their insurance and lose it.

Republicans want this to happen.  This is not pablum, it's facts and real life.

Anyone see the announcement by Trump and Pfizer that will bring drug costs down in the U.S.?   Why didn't Biden do that?
