Stafford or Maye for MVP right now? **edit**

He’s my fantasy football MVP for sure.

Mine too, and my favorite player, and I cheer for the Chiefs because of him. He was a real value this year in my fantasy auction draft and we can keep 3 players for one year so I'll have him next year at the same good price too. I have Rashee Rice too and he was cheap too.

NFL MVP odds

1. QB Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs (+140)

Mahomes has kept the Chiefs afloat despite missing his top receiver, Rashee Rice, for six weeks due to his suspension and his No. 2 receiver, Xavier Worthy, for two games with a shoulder injury. Kansas City enters Week 8 with a 4-3 record, and Mahomes has 1,800 passing yards, 14 touchdowns and two interceptions. He also leads the Chiefs with four rushing touchdowns and is second on the team with 250 rushing yards.

2. QB Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills (+350)

The reigning MVP is off to a 5-2 start with the Bills. On Oct. 26 against the Panthers, Allen threw for 163 yards and a touchdown while rushing for two more scores.

3. QB Drake Maye, New England Patriots (+500)

Maye entered Week 8 leading the NFL in completion rate (75.2%) and passer rating (116.4). He led the Patriots to a sixth win to stay atop the AFC East on Oct. 26 against the Browns despite taking six sacks. He finished the game 18-of-24 (75%) with 282 yards, three touchdowns, one interception and 50 rushing yards. Patriots fans were giving Maye "MVP" chants in New England during the Week 8 outing.

  you were okay with the Eagles giving him a four-year, $128 million contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles in June 2019, which was a record-setting deal at the time, including over $107 million in guarantees

At the time, that was a good bet. It didn’t work out, so Howie Roseman traded him to Indy for a 1st and a third. A couple years later the Eagles won the Super Bowl again.

Your point? 🤡

I was wrong that Wentz wasn’t an MVP candidate in 2017? Then why did he get MVP votes?

Maye is theoretically doing more with less not throwing to Puka and Adams.... More yards, less TDs, more INTs, higher completion percentage. They are neck and neck but again, Maye is throwing to Diggs, Henry, Pop Douglas....

If the season were ending today, it probably should be Maye but would be Stafford because the whole career achievement aspect will come into play and Stafford has never won a league MVP.

Agreed.  also Stafford had 130 yards passing yesterday. Patriots lose if Maye has that

Stafford is stat padding for sure.  Half of his TDs and 1-2 yarders.

Jordan Love doesnt have the padded td stats.  But as far as MVP he is up there tighter than odds suggest.  My opinion anyway.

Love has had a tremendous year but what do you mean by padded stats? The Rams throw a lot, but look at the NFC West race. Have there been a lot of situations where Stafford has been allowed to pad his counting stats where it isn't warranted to be throwing?  Neither Stafford or Maye are in the top 5 in pass attempts.

maybe im taking "padded" too literally but padding stats to me has always meant a team or coach allowing a player to inflate their stats when game flow and situation wouldn't otherwise call for it.

Didnt say that.  Just said I feel on true MVP opinion he should be tighter in the race than odds suggest.  The 2 at the top deserve to be the favorites.  The winner may be who pads thr stats best down the stretch.

Padded is a feel.  They have a good record so whos to say what plays should be called.  Im no stranger to it, Rodgers loved to throw inside the 5.  Rams have 2 good backs and run it fairly well, they rarely ever run down in there.   Adams is thr best goal line WR ever so perhaps it just makes sense.  They kept forcing pass down deep vs Carolina, they got a couple but one was batted up in air and picked.   They lost the game. Again whos to say, but thry sure do routinely love to pass it in close and never rely on a good run game, a McVay staple.

Maye last night at end of game was clearly stat padding attempts.

I dont mind if you want to stat pad.  Just pointing it out some.   Both teams are good so its not like it is hurting them if so.
