I ain't ever using one of those DNA services.  The cops use them to track down perps in cold case files. :ninja:

Mine says I am related to early Pennsylvania settlers; makes sense since there is a town there named after an ancestor.

I am still 30% South Germanic European, even after the update.

Those tests are about as reliable as your horoscope.

Nothing.  Most of them are white. Jewish is a religion, not a race.  Anyone that paid for a 23andme that said they are part “Ashkenazi Jew” got scammed

What if they tell everyone they're 1/2 Italian knowing that most people won't question it?

Not necessarily.

I have a very large part of my family tree completed, and we have a family historian that lives in New York and has done a TON of research. Before the DNA tests were even available. The family tree matches with the DNA results down to the specific regions.

It's an ethnoreligious group; not a race.

Geistown, PA...it's incredibly tiny but I am sure was a bustling metropolis in the 1860s. ;)

I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.  Which would of course mean another trip to confession, and I'm not sure that one would go well:  "Father, I have sinned.  I killed the Pope."

I'm pretty sure someone from Chicago would shiv me if I killed the Pope.  Probably one of those guys who used to be on SNL to talk about Da Bears and Da Bulls.

These things are freaky. It turned up a cousin we never knew we had. Apparently my dead uncle - dead over 35 years - had a kid we never knew about. Thing is we do not know if he even knew about him. And BTW seeing pictures he is the spitting image of my other cousins. Fvcked up.

Mostly I just know what I've been told. I supposedly have full blooded Cherokee great grandmothers on each side of the family and an ancestor that ran against Thomas Jefferson for president, (in the primaries I would guess.) And supposedly my family owned what is now know as Houston. My question is, "Where the fock is the money?"

I had my DNA analyzed back to see if I would be receptive to immunotherapy.  They asked if I wanted an analysis of my ethnicity, I said sure.  Their result was almost exactly what I've been told -- 1/2 Pollack, 1/4 Slovak, 1/4 Wop.

And there was 1% of something like "Australian Aborigine".  I think that was some sort of mistake.
