NFL Trade Deadline

Miami is trading  edge rusher Jaelan Phillips to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick.

This is the third trade the Eagles have made in the past week. They now have added Phillips, CB Jaire Alexander and CB Michael Carter

The Eagles today remind me of the Cowboys of the 70s. They’re miles ahead of everyone else in terms of acquiring talent. The Pats did this for a long while under Belichick but they were often awful at the talent evaluation part. Can only hit on Edelmans & Ninkoviches for so long.

It was low risk, high reward. They gave up a 3rd round pick but they had 3 of them.

I love the pickup for them.

Sauce has been overrated since his great rookie year. I am skeptical of a new GM who extends him and then trades him but 2 firsts and Adonai Mitchell coming back is a great deal. Reminds me of when they fleeced Seattle for Jamal Adams.  Of course none of it means anything if you never have a real direction for rebuilding.

They should empty the cartridge like the Jets.  Trade Kamara, Olave, etc.  Get as many picks as you can.

From my standpoint, I didn't expect Tampa to do anything.  At this point in time, it appears my expectations were met.  From the Saints standpoint, that team is going the wrong way.  Their best players are getting older and/or approaching new deals.  They should've traded everyone that had value.

Great to see my Cowboys trying to get better, but most likely too little too late

Maybe. It's going to be 2 late first round picks. I think I'd rather keep Sauce but I certainly get their thinking. They're gearing up for a 2027 QB.

The Bills did absolutely nothing. 🤷‍♂️

I was surprised they didn’t move Pickens. He’s gonna want a huge contract next year. Jerry won’t want to pay it. He will leave. And they get nothing in return. Could have traded him and gotten some value at least.

Agree. They could of flipped him for a nice pick, perhaps even a defensive starter.

Kamara said he’d retire so they likely had no shot to trade him.

Probably why they couldn’t move Pickens, others didn’t want to pay it.

Sauce has regressed since his rookie year and has also had a bit of an attitude problem. A lot of corners also don’t have long careers at their peaks. One thing I liked was the way they extended him. It allowed the Jets to keep him long term but also allowed them to trade him for more value as the acquiring team would not have a negotiation to worry about.

2026 will be a late 1st but we know nothing about 2027. If Indiana Jones does revert to Danny Dimes, all bets are off.

Also getting Adonai Mitchell was a nice throw in. A former 2nd rounder in his 3rd season. Worth kicking the tires on.

Not surprising. Jerry trading FOR Q Williams is likely going all in. I wouldn’t see him breaking up Lamb/Pickens/Ferguson/Javonte. Best set of weapons Dak has had in a long time.
Smart? Probably not. But knowing Jerry, I would never have expected them trading Pickens

Jets will fock up all these picks 😂

On the surface, yes… that’s the comical line of thinking. However we’ve seen the Jets utilize high picks very well in the recent past (Elijah Vera-Tucker and Garrett Wilson from the Jamal Adams fleecing for example)

I think proven players are always worth more than unknown picks… but depending on the situation, like how Quinnen Williams will be due for another massive extension soon, it makes sense.

Wilson would have been the only key player I’d have been pissed about dealing, even for a huge pick haul. Stud WRs have long shelf lives. Just think back to the Titans inexplicably trading AJ Brown to the Eagles. One of the worst trades in the modern era. How’s Treylon Burks doing? 😂

I thank you for your man. Very excited to see him. And already hoping they resign him.

I always felt Seattle needed another wr. They only go 5 deep on game day. (They went 6 the whole Carroll era). They go very heavy up front, very jumbo.

3 RB's, 3 TE's, a fb, and an extra lineman (or 2) seems to be the preferred active GameDay method now. So those 5 guy's gotta all be good. I felt they only had 4 until today.

JSN, Shaheed, Horton on the outside, with Kupp and Bobo in the slot is very exciting to me. Outside of JSN, probably not fantasy friendly. But the offense is pretty complete.

They hit on Sauce and Williams. With these 3 picks I guarantee you they won't land another Sauce/Williams. They should trade those 2026 picks for 2027 picks that is supposed to be a great QB draft. Now they need to draft a CB and DL

You would rather keep an in prime yet aging CB who has declined in play on a team who isnt close to winning anything?

For what reason?

The Jets are doing the absolute right thing here.

Then let him retire.  He can give up the money he was supposed to make for the rest of the year and next year as well as give back a portion of his bonus money.  He's not going to help the Saints by being on the team.  He even saves the team $15M next year.  At worst, it's addition by subtraction.
