Guess I was never into speed metal and still not much.

I pegged you (no pun intended) as a Hall and Oates kinda guy.

Same. And they turned out to be such a-holes I can’t listen to their good albums anymore, either.

From 12-16 I was all about hard rock/heavy metal.

I got hooked on kill em all. Got to see them in small venues where they opened for other bands and were very unpolished.

Ha. That was a random joke (Hall and Oates). I won’t say I hated the Black album but that was definitely the end of Metallica for me - although my kid played the crap out of Death Magnetic when it first came out and it grew on my from a distance.

I did too. They played a place called Felt Forum which was a small venue under Madison Square Garden when Kill ‘em all was just called Metal up your ass !

Had to be ‘83/‘84 ?

I was more into the hair bands in the 80's when Metallica came out with speed metal and also not a fan of Megadeath. Krockus , Y&T and Twisted Sister was loud enough for me.

I'm not fan of them as humans either but do like the Black album. Never cared for them crying about Napster and etc.

Ride the Lightning, And Justice for All, and Master of Puppets are all great albums.

The black album is solid

They have some solid songs scattered in the rest of their albums.

One of their better songs is a cover from Garage Inc. Bread Fan.

Despite them all being aholes, their best music is the best in metal history.
