They've been at it a while now and they come up with a gotcha charge. Flynn and his lawyers know what kind of penalty he's looking at. Doesn't seem to bother him. What's he going to get? Probation? A few months in prison? Like I said, prisons aren't full of people who have lied to the FBI. He'll get something along the lines of what others got. Why would he get more? Fair sentencing act 1984.

Actually, Flynn resigned. The next day, Trump begged call me to let the whole thing go. Then the day after that he came out publicly and said that Flynn did nothing wrong, in fact if anything did something right.

Actually no, this is pretty much classic style. Motor did the same thing with Enron. You start with the little s*** and just keep chipping away. For example, you don't go after Jeff Skilling for mail fraud initially, you ask him hey did you lie about X Y and Z on this one little memo? Some is much more likely to admit to a small thing then the whole enchilada. And then you just keep adding more and more until the guy is so far in he can't walk himself out.

 

Among many other more serious things, Flynn was caught lying on multiple occasions. Discharge specifically refers to just a couple. There's a reason for that.
