Chicago already seen 1000+ shootings this year

Recommended Posts

Watched "Bowling for Columbine" again last night. hadn't seen it in years.

Moore makes several assertions that a plainly true.

1. The media (news and entertainment) shows and glorifies violence.

2. Americans watch too much violent television, including news.

3. We buy more guns out of fear of violence.

Moore makes weak assertion as to why we fire the weapons. Fear?

He downplays race as a factor and goes so far as to say that blacks are unfairly represented in the media as violent.

It sure is a black thing. But it is also a poor thing as well. When you see 6 7 year 9ld inner city black kids there is nothing wrong with them....happy as all hell and just kids. You grow up in a hopeless part of town with awful "parents" and awful role models any where they turn and yeah they will tend to turn out to be bad. There is a % of kids that make it out and we see it a lot through sports. But that number isnt near high enough to break thr cycle.

Some of these kids do not have much of any chance from the start. It isnt whiteys fault. It is a strong cycle of life in a lot of places. A few programs or tv ads arent going to turn criminal parents into good parents. Not sure how this problem gets fixed or even helped.

There are many more poor white kids than there are poor black kids so your argument has holes in it.

I once believed that poverty was the biggest indicator of crime. Experience taught me different.

I really don't know either, but the past and current strategy is a miserable failure.

If nothing else, we should know by now that keeping all the poor black people in massive housing projects and forever downtrodden neighborhoods isn't the answer.

There are programs that try to spread them out and help them assimilate, but there are stil far too many ghettos in the U.S.

And whitey ain't approving any section 8 housing projects in the middle of McMansionville. So, now what?

If you have never seen an inner city then I would expect you to understand.

Take 1 poor black regular kid at age 6 and put him in a suburb school and have his family be just as poor. The teachers at decent burb school in many instances will see poor kid with crap parents and take them under his wing. In crappy inner city school kid is the exact same as all other poor kids and the teachers are scared and do the minimum.

Then compare inner city crowded areas of poverty to small poor town rural USA. White poor kid with no direction may go throw stones through old factory buildings. Poor inner city kid may walk to the store and see several groups of drug dealers. Go to school with drug dealers.

I grew up in small town poor usa. My school wasnt great what so ever. One of the poorest among a pretty poor area. Many troubled kids. Very very few sold and did hard drugs. Guns were for hunting and hand guns were in no way a part of anyones life...even the worst kids. Many kids from my town who were troubled and poor became early alcoholics. Maybe heroin and pill junkies later in life. Maybe start fights in bars.

Simple situations like how mu school was dirt poor and had limited funds, but the teachers for the most part cared. Small town creates more unity in my eyes, where you tend to help eachother. City life in huge schools full of scared teachers I can only assume is a whole lot different.

I am afraid that there is a certain class of race-problem solvers who don't want the patient to get well, because as long as the disease holds out they have not only an easy means of making a living, but also an easy medium through which to make themselves prominent before the public. - Booker T. Washington 1911

Remember when Trump said he was concerned about the violence in Chicago and SNL mocked him for it? Member that very night while SNL was mocking him, two little girls 11 and 12 y/o where shot and killed in Chicago.

People like newbie laughed it off and Sho couldn't careless and people like you still refuse to address the real problem.

Baltimore is on a record pace for murders. But wait, I thought the big problem there were the cops? I have t heard of any alleged unjustified shootings, yet the killings are through the roof. How can that be? And didn't crime go down under Obama?

First things first. Get the feds in there to help police establish law and order. The problem is the slightest hint of federal intervention gets people like you screaming trump is deploying the military to establish a dictatorship.

Maybe he's working out a deal to have Russia's military come in and straighten things out. :dunno:

We have a repeat

In the wake of their stunning defeat the Lefties are stuck defending radical Islam, illegals, Chinese steel, Chicago murderers, Hollywood snowflakes, the unaffordable care act, transgender bathrooms, Chemical Warfare, Tampon Machines in the Men's Bathrooms, tax and spend, failed Socialist Governments, rioting to prevent free speech, a Nuclear Iran, America Last, punishing success, rewarding apathy, Nuclear Korea, and Politically Correct Nonsense.

You should move there and run for mayor, Vigoda. You can change it all with your conservative ways. I'm sure it'll straighten right up.
