Thomas Rawls - Lock if Lynch sits?

Recommended Posts

Rawls had a hundo last week, but is he a sure fire start if Lynch sits Monday? Haven't seen the guy catch anything, so not sure of value in a PPR.

Anyone considering both if Lynch suits up and gives it a go?

I have Lynch and Rawls.

I will play 1, but not both. Unless you have someone else you could plug in on MNF, you'd be crazy to plan on starting both, IMO.

Hoping they sit Lynch so I can start Rawls without hesitation.

There are only about 5 sure things in all of fantasy football. If Lynch sits I'd put Rawls as as a top 25 overall player. I liked the way Rawls looked last week. He might have benefited from playing against a poor Chicago D. Seattle will remain committed to the running game.

If you own both you have to play the one who is starting, it's that smile.

I think that if Lynch sits we might see a little more work from F Jackson this week .

Not so sure about that. Maybe on 3rd downs.

But Rawls ran hard last week, and I think he can carry the load.

I'd never call it a lock, but Rawls is a pretty good play if Lynch is out.

Fred Jackson may poach some goal line carries, but Rawls will still put up reasonable (RB2 type) numbers with the potential for a bit of upside.

It's a conundrum with Seattle playing on Monday, if you have one or the other, you have to roll the dice early.

If you have both, by all means wait, but I'd avoid the situation and roll with my RB3 if I had a decent one. MNF game time decisions are brutal.

I could start Moncrief as a flex, but right now I'm planning on choosing between Rawls or Lynch on Monday night. Too risky?

Other options are Morris and Jones, but that's a tossup too.

I decided to drop Dunbar as my FLEX in a .5 per league and roll the dice with Rawls. I think the comparative upside is too good, and I see Rawls getting a lot of work vs DET regardless if Lynch starts, particularly in the second half.

Now watch the Fantasy Gods mess with me.

I decided to just play Yeldon over rawls/lynch. I can see what happened last week happening again this week. Lynch gives it a go, has 4 carries then puts on the beanie.

Well, Lynch is officially OUT. Rawls good for 5 TDS? Because that's probably what I'll need by then.

Sounds feasible

Joseph Randle or go with Rawls?

With the Girl's Name topic being hot, I'd have to tell you to go Sweet Lou Rawls.

I'm glad I took the chance.

I rolled with Rawls over Foster today...it was almost the other way around. I was literally swapping them around for ten minutes before the noon game. :) Put Rawls in at about 11:57 and then waited to see if my gut reacted one more time. It didn't. Whew.

I have so many Rbs on my roster: Lynch, Hill, Chris Johnson, Ellington, Freeman, and Gurley.

Just dropped Delanie Walker for Rawls. That's gotta be the right play as a Lynch owner, even with all the other rbs, right?

Never underestimate Freddy Jackson's propensity to bleed fantasy #'s.

Right now I have Megatron in at flex. I could switch it to Abdullah...or I could grab Rawls but then I'd have to drop 1 of the Lions mentioned.

I guess I'll ride Megatron

Now the report is that Lynch may NOT be out, and he's now 40/60 to play? WTF! I thought if you announce a guy as out, he's out!

No?

Right here on fftoday.com. Front page.

You mean the update in the upper right, from 4pm on Saturday? Between the Foster and Scobee updates?

Yeah, I think that was an old update. but regardless of update, you should be double checking just prior to gametime regardless of what the media reports.

Yeah, but I wouldn't kill myself to do it when someone is listed as out. I can't recall a time when someone was listed as Out and then played. May have happened, could happen, I just can't recall it happening in the 15 years I've been paying FF levels of attention to these things :)

I've seen it.

Not often, but it has happened. and the story seems to change every day on this one.

It's always best to double check. Cant hurt you.

But if you're, say, teaching a night class tonight...and you were up by 50 on your Wilson-Lynch opponent with Rawls and return-yards-Lockett on your squad...I wouldn't schedule the class period so I can check my roster...or anything like that. :)

So for those that saw the game, how did Rawls look?

Hot Garbage....seriously.

That but somehow he got 17 carries... no idea how that didn't translate to anything.

Lions were in the backfield. The Seahawks line looks as bad as the Bronco line.

Any word on Marshawn and his hammy?

that's probably a fair statement.

that's probably a fair statement.

In the end, Rawls did at least do better than Foster, and those were the two I was debating about on Sunday. I did end up still winning the match.

Just packaged Rawls with Woodhead (PPR) to the Lynch owner too. I think it was a good all-around trade. He has Lynch, and now Gurley, but he also has Miller and CJ and Sankey as his only other backs. So he needed RB help, and Lynch's backup couldn't hurt. I got Moncrief in return--I needed WR help, he already had Hilton, so he could let Moncrief go. I have Luck, so that will be a good combo for me.

Rawls did well by me in the end :)
