Bridgewater

Recommended Posts

Gotta admit, I have been hesitant to embrace this guy. After all, besides Favre's short run, when was the last time Minny had a good fantasy QB? Culpepper?

However, after watching him closely in preseason, I can no longer deny that he has the opportunity to make a big fantasy splash this season.

He is super-poised in the pocket, and deadly accurate. He can scramble for yards when needed, as well. His WR's are above adequate, and he has All-Day pounding the rock to keep D's honest.

Thinking now that he might be a true gem at his ADP. The only thing that gives me pause is Russell Wilson. Wilson is as skilled and smart as anyone in the league, but his #'s (although good) always seem to leave one knowing that he could have done so much more if they weren't a run-first, conservative, defensive-minded team.

Anyone else buying on Bridge?

Been pushing this guy to my buddies since watching him dismantle my gators in the bowl game several years ago.

I know it's college, but the dudes accuracy was remarkable. If you can drop dimes like that you've got a hell of a shot to do something in the league.

I'm really encouraged by what I've seen out of Teddy. I think he'll end the year in the 12/13/14 range.

But, honestly, I don't think I'm drafting him. When I'm going for a QB2, I'm going upside. Someone who can finish in the top 10.

Rivers has that upside. Bradford (if he stays healthy) has that upside. Cutler (if you don't penalize INTs) has that upside. Even Dalton has that upside. With Viking offense going through AD, I don't think Teddy has the upside I'm looking for.

I may be kicking myself for not going after him and trusting my original opinions on him. I also may be kicking myself for not taking him in any leagues this year yet besides a few mfl10s. He iw going to be a target of mine in my final draft. One more important factor, if you have any worries about AP, i believe Teddy may be good enough to keep defenses honest.

V4E: Saying Dalton and Cutler have more upside than TB is crazy.

Dalton was top 3 just 2 years ago. With AD (and Asiata to occasionally spell him at the goal line), I'd be surprised if Teddy topped 25 TDs or so. Dalton and Cutler both have 30+ potential. Cutler also has a sh*tty defense, which means he's going to have to catch up more often.

Like I said, I really like what I've seen from Teddy. I'm thrilled the Vikings drafted him. I just don't think he has the fantasy upside I want out of a QB2.

I think he's an average backup in deeper leagues, so maybe 15th on my board? Of the deep QBs I'd actually prefer Dalton an possibly Kaepernick just based on rushing potential. I have him slightly above Mariota for the same reason. I'd be comfortable with Teddy as my backup but only with a reliable starter.

The value that Bridgewater holds for me as a QB2 is that he faces ARI, CHI and NYG in the playoff weeks, who finished 10th, 2nd and 5th respectively in fantasy points allowed to QBs in 2014. My preferred choice for QB1 faces a considerably more difficult playoff schedule.

Agree I see Bridgewater as a number two qb . Dalton and Cutler both have a higher ceiling than Bridgewater .

Wish he had a little more fire in that arm. He'd be lethal.

Whatcha mean? Don't think he can fire the deep ball?

I'd consider his arm in the "adequate" category. I don't think it'll be a problem for him. I could also see it improving. His frame was slight coming out, so he could certainly add some bulk.

Buying Bridge bigtime. He is a decent qb with very good weopons - Johson, Rudolph, Wright, Wallace, and AP. He's like a Romo, rodgers in their first year breakout when he had those very good receivers to be ablee to predict a breakout

He is the perfect gut to take a risk on Bradford and have a cheap back up if he were to go down.

So you agree than he is worth a number two qb ?

Just traded Dalton and a few mid to late round picks for Bridgewater in my dynasty league. #winning

Great job.

Bridgewater is the real deal. Been saying it for a while, Vikings got a steal.

Who cares if he doesnt have a cannon. There are so many qbs with cannons for an arm that suck at everything else a qb does. A lot of great qbs didnt have big time arms.

This. As a long suffering Bills fan I remember all too well how much Wade Phillips had a b0ner over Rob Johnson's "cannon arm". What a POS that dude was. Doesn't matter how hard you can throw the ball if you end up taking sacks because you hold onto the ball too long and just plain suck.
