BigMilk 40 Posted August 26, 2014 This is what happens when you wait on TE too long...and wait...and wait... Here's hoping his Gronkian performance this preseason is a sign of things to come.
Frozenbeernuts 1,652 Posted August 26, 2014 Im not but i think smith is an underrated qb who will need a dependent receiving option in a contract year, a year where smith bet on himself and didnt want a dalton/kap type of contract.
GS3K 12 Posted August 26, 2014 Kelce is still the number two tight end on the depth chart behind Fasano. If he breaks out though more power to him, was his performance against the ones, twos or three though do you know?
Moe Money 4 Posted August 26, 2014 He's a decent backup, but don't expect much consistent production this season.
Frozenbeernuts 1,652 Posted August 26, 2014 Fasano is just a slow ok te. It would be a shame to see them push fasano over the more dynamic option. Then again i have seen it before so...
Spec7ral 6 Posted August 26, 2014 If kelce isn't in for most if not all passing downs by week 4 Arians needs to be canned. kelce was limited in his time against 1s in the preseason, but his size and speed stood out even more than kelvin Benjamins showing the last three weeks.

Can he block? KC's o-line is looking shaky so that's going to be a big concern. Plus if the guy is no good on running downs then you telegraph passing plays when he comes in
Bobbyn2022 53 Posted August 26, 2014 If you had to compare gronk and kelce what's the size difference? Whose faster? Does he have the physical tools?
tanatastic 2,061 Posted August 26, 2014 He's no different than any waiver scrub TE. You pray for a TD but your lucky when you get 5 points from him. Guys like him are the toast of fantasy every year and every year people end up sayin the same thing..."I shoulda just got Witten."
Bobbyn2022 53 Posted August 26, 2014 What about when they are right? Thomas came out of no where. I could go back and pull up a post where I said Thomas is gonna be a stud TE and you should pick him up. I'm not sure I'm willing to say that about kelce without watching more tape but the guy looks pretty good. Alex smith loves throwing to his TEs. They will play a horrible Oakland team 2 times a year and will be playing from behind vs Denver 2 times a year. The down side is that he will play Seahwaks,Arz,Stl this year tuff schedule. shutdown 40 Posted August 26, 2014 I'm in that boat, waited too long in a 14 team league. I just couldn't see losing more than several tenths of a point per game over the season by taking one of the middle of the pack TE's substantially earlier in the draft. Maybe I'll wind up chasing it all year with waive wire picks, but I just can't see Fasano being any more than a blocking TE and if they run more 2 TE sets it should be Fasano staying in to block.
IMMensaMind 459 Posted August 26, 2014 He's not going to be drafted as my starting TE, but he's definitely going to be a late pick mining for fantasy gold. I've ranked him #4 in my TE list ('cuz I'm taking a shot at calling a gem) - I think he's going to be great for that offense. I see KC playing a whole lot of 2 TE sets, with Fasano being the blocking TE and Kelce the move. Who the hell else do they have to throw to there? I think Bowe is the suck, and with his finger injury and McCluster gone, Kelce picks up a ton of catches. They're desperate for a dynamic TE in KC.
Bobbyn2022 53 Posted August 26, 2014 Some of Vernon Davis best years were with Alex smith. He loves to dump the ball off and doesn't really take to many chances. lesjroza 70 Posted August 27, 2014 Guy 1 Fasano is the starter Guy 2 Well Kelce will be the starter Guy 1 KC needs the blocking help so its gotta be Fasano Guy 2 Huh? KC has no one to catch the ball Guess what? Both guys are right KC will be playing 12 personnel regularly by week 4 IMO Kelce is going to be in the slot and one of the top pass catching options, how targeted he becomes will depend on his efficiency and he is young and relatively inexperienced. Sudfeld he is not. If Sudfeld had a dream about being superman he still wouldn't be close to Kelce in his dream. The guy is a height-weight-strength prospect of the rarest kind. Truly Gronkian. SaintsInDome2006 128 Posted September 10, 2014 I feel like I went out on a bit of a limb and picked up Kelce over Allen. Anyone feeling better - or worse - about his prospects after the KC disaster in Week 1 and Reid's mea culpa afterwards admitting he totally failed on playcalling front? And that's the problem with Reid, always has been - his playcalling can be just a huge wtf in any given game. But the Chiefs really, really need Kelce to produce for them. Frozenbeernuts 1,652 Posted September 10, 2014 I feel better considering they have jack shlt to work with besides him. Maybe they ignore him, but i think odds are in favor of him becoming consistently involved.
Dueces Will Be Wild 15 Posted September 10, 2014 I picked him up in my two J. Reed leagues. I liked Reid's statements about needing to use him more. Best option I saw on the WW.
D-Thomas58 3 Posted September 10, 2014 I had J Reed, so I'm rolling with Kelce.

FeelingMN 273 Posted September 10, 2014 Dropped him for Locker. If he does something this weekend, I'll spend a decent chunk to reacquire him. But he only played 15 snaps week 1. That number will go up....and he is one of the few playmakers on that team. But I don't see a dramatic increase in his numbers overnight. If the coaches haven't figured out how to get him on the field yet, it probably won't happen for a few weeks. He should change his name to Travis We'llSee. IMMensaMind 459 Posted September 10, 2014 I'm still cautiously optimistic. Kelce would have had a TD in the first game had the throw been accurate; he would have also had additional yards but for an offensive penalty.
Kent 228 Posted September 10, 2014 The TE for the Giants might come out of nowhere. 8 targets, a TD and several end zone attempts. Eli has to dump off to the TE because he has no time back there.
Bobbyn2022 53 Posted September 10, 2014 Kelce had 18 snaps and 3 catches for 49 yards. Why would he not play more? And obviously the guy would easily be a stud if they get him the ball. Give him 40 snaps he's at 100 yards easy. No way they keep this guy on the bench he play great for the amount of time he was in.
Rico Suave 1 Posted September 10, 2014 Drafted him late so I'm rolling with him. If I get burned so be it but I hope that he will get more snaps.
BigMilk 40 Posted September 11, 2014 Went with him week 1, and riding the bandwagon off a cliff week 2 if I must. Better than playing it "safe" with a lame Heath Miller type. Let's see if Andy Reid is really soweeee and let it ride again this week.

ricanrockers 39 Posted September 11, 2014 I feel KC will be chasing Denver all night. With that said, Kelce should see his share of targets and have better stats than week-1!

doctorlw 0 Posted September 12, 2014 My enthusiasm regarding Kelce this season has all but dissipated at this point. I still am holding him in 6 of my 9 leagues, but I just traded him "high" as a throw in one... and I see him as the first guy on my roster to get cut when bye weeks come a knocking. Kelce's time will come, but not in time for him to be a viable fantasy asset this season.

SaintsInDome2006 128 Posted September 26, 2014 What are people seeing for Kelce on MNF vs the Pats? It seems like a bad matchup on paper, but it's in KC and a big game for the Chiefs. Charles might return too. Kelce's snaps have gone up from 18 to 36 to 47. They may go up further and maybe they feature him with Gronk and BB there in person. Coming out party? $epphori$ 118 Posted September 26, 2014 That's a great comparison. Reid can be really mystifying in some of his choices. Reid is one of the worst coaches in getting talent out of his offense's It is as if he is the cancer to the Eagles, and Chiefs scoring potential. He always plays it safe and ends up losing games and looks like a deer in headlights. If he was our coach I would not remain a Pats fan. Reid is a facking tool. I feel sorry for Chief fans.
