wiffleball 4,797 Posted March 31, 2008 The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity, but that she is a typical white person. If she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know ... there's a reaction in her that doesn't go away and it comes out in the wrong way.” - Barack Obama So, Obama's on record as saying that all Black churches say essentially the same thing as Pastor Wrights's midwest madrassa. - Which is patently absurd and horribly racist. He's on board as saying that only the black church talks about social injustice. - Which is patently absurd and horribly racist. And now, he's using the term "typical white person"? WTF? Can you imagine the negro wailing if McCain said something about "The typical black person?" What a POS.

peenie 1,945 Posted March 31, 2008 it's only racist if it's untrue. is it? it's not racist to say that the typical black child is born to a single unwed mother. it may sting but it's certainly true. i don't think what obama said is racist as that is human behavior. passing any group of young men that are unfamiliar to you makes you nervous especially if you're a woman. maybe as a black person less so when seeing other blacks because we're better able to distinguish who is a threat or not. it's been my experience that a guy who looks like this will make a white person nervous just because they can't differentiate between criminal and avid hip hop follower. peenie 1,945 Posted March 31, 2008 ...And if John McCain said this, his career would be over. but white people say that all the time. no one has a problem with that, it's usually what comes after it that is the problem. there was some guy who said that the typical black child is born to an unwed mother and many grow up in poverty and many become criminals so therefore if you abort those children you'll reduce crime. he deserved to be criticized because the problem isn't the unwed mother part, it's saying you should abort these children. also crime isn't directly linked to single motherhood, it's more linked to poverty but poverty is not directly linked to crime. anyway....you get my drift. wiffleball 4,797 Posted March 31, 2008 but white people say that all the time. no one has a problem with that, it's usually what comes after it that is the problem. Find me a quote where any white celebrity or office holder or seeker has said that and not been given one hell of a ration of shiit. I note that you still haven't addressed my Trent Lott post in the earlier thread. It's a direct example of how a white senator is held to a higher moral standard than a black senator. Tell me that if Don Imus or Bill McCain didn't use the words "Typical black person" - even in the most ebulient fashion, they wouldn't be thoroughly lambasted for their "racist terminology". Strike 5,967 Posted April 1, 2008 do you need me to define what racist is cause obviously you all don't seem to know. While I don't think the statement is racist, I do think it is condesending. I support Obama and Granny Obama in excersizing their free speech. Kudos. But Obama threw his granny under the bus to get votes. Seems kind of creepy. One side of his family should be righteously pissed off. But that's just me. I understand where you would be p!ssed if you were a law abiding black man and were getting sh!t. However I look at it the same as we look at terrorists(i am not comparing black men to terrorists btw). People of Middle Eastern descent b!tch about being looked at like terrorists however you don't see any other race of people blowing themselves up. People look at black men that way because of what they see on TV. Black men commiting crimes left and right. What reason would an old white lady feel any different? Me_2006 14 Posted April 1, 2008 Yes, it's racist. kudos to peenie for actually keeping her cool so far and discussing this whole thing rationally. kilroy69 1,265 Posted April 1, 2008 How old are you? What kind of question is that. Does that have something to do with the fact that my black friends and I joke about the fact blacks can't be quiet in a theater? Because we also joke about white peoples nasal accents. Its not like this is something that I made up. I went to watch a spoken word poet named shehan not to long ago. He was half spoken word half comic. gocolts 300 Posted April 1, 2008 Its a well known fact that blacks can't be racist. HTH I heard Bill O'Reilly talk about this late last night on his Radio Show. Joy Behar Reveals: Obama Isn't Racist It turns out Barack Obama and his demagogic pastor Jeremiah Wright aren't racists after all. They hate Whitey, all right — as Reverend Wrong makes abundantly clear in his sermons, and Obama through his choice of associations and in his book Dreams from My Father. But it's not racist to hate white people. Take it from ABC's noted philosopher Joy Behar: [W]hen I was in college, I studied sociology. And what we learned is that racism is an institutional thing. It's not like, it's something that goes from the top down. In other words it's not something- if somebody is- you can't be racist if you're in the oppressed minority. It goes the other direction. The majority is racist to the oppressed minority. I have heard peenie say that some blacks are self hating blacks So I guess this stupid biatch(Joy Behar, not peenie) is a self hating white. Or is that not possible either in fantasy land???

wiffleball 4,797 Posted April 2, 2008 What's really disconcerting is that the same guy that has no problem pointing out his negro-fearing grandmother was white is the same guy who: "ceased to advertise my mother’s race at the age of twelve or thirteen, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites" (From Barack Obama's self-penned book) So, when it's conveeeenient to throw your Grandmother's race into the mix to save your own ass, you do so. But you're embarassed to admit your own mother's race because you don't want to ingratiate yourself to the white debils? Lying hypocritical racist.
