16 pointsUnpleasant to people here anyhow. In no particular order: 1. Joe Biden had nothing to do with the indictments of Donald Trump; each indictment was justified because Trump broke the law each time. There was no weaponization of Biden’s justice department, no double standard. 2. Joe Biden won the 2020 election. There were no mysterious circumstances, no conspiracies. 3. The January 6 attackers were violent MAGA thugs egged on by Donald Trump most of whom deserve to be in prison. 4. The George Floyd riots were conducted by independent, individual criminals and thugs, unrelated to Black Lives Matter or the Democratic Party or liberalism in general. Most of them weren’t Antifa either. (Antifa only has a few hundred members and isn’t large enough to cause real trouble.) 5. Joe Biden is not corrupt and didn’t commit any crimes while in office. Nor is he a pedophile. 6. The Covid vaccines saved millions of lives; refusing to take the Covid virus cost thousands of lives. 7. Dr. Anthony Fauci is an American hero who had nothing to do with the creation of the Covid 19 virus but had everything to do with saving lives from that virus. He deserves our adulation. 8. George Soros, a Holocaust survivor, is a great man who helped liberate Hungary from Soviet Communism. The attacks against him are rooted in anti-semitism. 9. Man made climate change is real and extremely threatening to human survival on this planet. 10. Undocumented immigrants are not “illegal” because a person cannot be “illegal” in a civilized society. Undocumented immigrants are a boon to our society, and an economic net gain. Most undocumented immigrants are not violent criminals. 11. Transgenderism is not a mental disease. 12. Mistakes were made before, during and after the LA fires, but none of these were deliberate, none were caused by political ideology, and in any event the mistakes made very little difference. OK I’m done. Have a good night!

11 pointsI still don’t think Trump is going to win, but he’s tied in the polls and the momentum for now appears to be on his side. So I have to consider it a strong possibility. Ugh. Even so I remain an optimist. Here’s what I think and hope if that happens: 1. Trump has promised a 20% tariff on all imports from all countries, higher on China. My friend @jerryskids assures me this will never actually happen, that it’s simply a starting point in a negotiation to get other countries to trade with us more fairly. So I’m going to hope that he is right about this. Or, if he is wrong, I’m going to trust that the immediate economic backlash of such actions will force Trump to withdraw the tariffs shortly after he has enforced them. 2. Trump has promised to institute mass deportation of undocumented immigrants. For that he needs money, tons of it, and the willingness of Congress to go along. Ultimately he won’t get it. There will be a lot of fear and IMO bad results as he reinstates some of the awful executive orders from his previous term. Eventually we will have a more comprehensive solution to this issue but that will have to wait. 3. We will cut off aid to Ukraine. That WILL happen and it likely means Ukraine will have to concede large areas of territory to Russia ala the Munich conference of 1938. Trump may also pull out of NATO. Trump may also refuse to defend Taiwan and refuse to defend South Korea. Expect an isolationist push around the world, except for Israel which we will unequivocally support no matter what actions they take. Conservatives apparently believe this will make us safer (or at least it won’t harm us). I doubt that but I will hope they’re right. 4. Trump will seek a tax cut but he’ll only get one if the House stays Republican, which is a 50/50 bet. Either way so long as the tariffs and trade war are avoided the economy should continue to improve as we are a robust nation and capitalism works. Trump will take credit but I don’t care; I want good things to happen always and it disgusts me when people, including those on my side, root for bad things to happen because the wrong guy is President. So hopefully the economy booms. But if Trump gets his tariffs you can throw that all out the window. 5. Liberals fear that Trump will end our democracy. I’ve never believed this. He is an authoritarian and he will attempt to weaponize the DOJ (no it is not weaponized now) to punish his enemies. These attempts will likely fail. 6. Conservatives expect a Trump victory will mean an end to all of the woke culture they detest about modern American society. That won’t happen. Woke is mostly inevitable change, and IMO positive change. Transgenders, gays, women, blacks, will continue to gain more and more rights even during the next 4 years despite attempts to slow that down. Eventually women will regain the right to abortion once again everywhere in this country. I’m extremely confident about this. Just may take a little longer. 7. The argument over climate change will be unaffected because there’s not much difference in policy between the two parties. Harris’ current views on fracking represents a truth that liberals will never admit: no matter how bad climate change gets we will never try to fight it by punishing big industry and the consumer. It will never happen. At some point some President is going to wake up and propose a huge investment into nuclear energy, and particularly nuclear fusion. If that’s Trump then despite everything else he could still go down as one of our greatest Presidents. So that’s all for now. If Trump wins I will wish him well because I wish this country well and he will be my President. I will hope for the best.

10 points@TrailGuy is killing it with facts in this thread. But it appears most people here don’t want to hear them; they would prefer to blame this catastrophe on liberalism and woke ideology, its illogical, incredibly stupid and infuriating but that’s where we are as a society these days.

9 pointsYou were just spamming the thread... a thread that was allowed to run for over 1.5 years. It had run it's course.

8 pointsI’ve been in discussion forms for over 20 years and I’ve never once advocated banning anyone. Until now. It’s obvious to anyone who reads these threads that @squistion is a cancer to this discussion forum. He brings nothing to the place. He doesn’t argue positions. He doesn’t post any links or information of value. Just random tweets from unknowns. Dude is nothing but a troll. He was single-handedly responsible for getting the Politics Forum at FBGs shut down. Even Liberals can’t stand him. Time to snuff out his torch and send him packing. Let’s make this forum great again.

8 pointsThis is why you're such a terrible person. I don't and I know lots of people that don't. I wake up everyday thinking what I can do for others. That's what good people do.

8 pointsUnder the incoming Trump administration and Republican Congress, I fear: That there will be destruction of nature in favor of drilling and construction. Unqualified people will be put in charge of government agencies. Important institutions will no longer be funded properly. That illegals will be treated inhumanely. That white nationalists will become more active and potentially violent toward people of color.

8 pointsMy official prediction: I think the race will break in Kamala’s favor somewhere in the 10-7 days before the election. The majority of the swing states will go her way. Either 6-1 or 5-2 Democrats outperform the polling numbers once again. Please add as many as you like. I will preserve them for the official record.

8 pointsNot a look at me, but several of you have reached out and I certainly appreciate it. And not to leave people hanging I may update here or there as things progress because some of you genuinely seem to care. I had a work trip planned this week, which didn't leave my daughter many options but my mom has taken her in and she seems to be responding well. It seems like she understands the consequence of her actions, but she's also dealing with the fact that not many people trust her (really just me and my mom left at this point, and even we don't see eye to eye on everything). My wife has been listening and understanding and trying to see where I'm coming from on this. Because I think she knows that my daughter needs her dad, and she doesn't always react well to triggers, that she has a go bag to stay at her mom's for a night if my daughter needs a place to sleep at our house. I realize that's not ideal, but we also don't think leaving my daughter without options is a good idea right now either. I think I've got my daughter to agree to see a counselor. And I'm trying to explain to her that building back trust of others is a process, won't be quick, will be hard and any setbacks mean your start back at ground zero. In terms of figuring out how to settle out the totaled car, identifying an attorney, and working on her next car (I know, short term goals) she's very independent and handling much of that without any of my assistance. I say that cognizant of the opportunity that exists for me to be enabling to her, which I'm trying to avoid. But she is independent, head strong and doesn't always need help from others. At least I think she likes to think that's the case and seems to appreciate the attention of making others think she's completely on her own on everything. Still need to with through long term plans like housing and career goals and whatnot, but I feel better than I did Sunday. I appreciate those of you who have offered me support and encouragement. It means a lot.

8 pointsIt wasn't anywhere close to a draw. Vance clearly won, and Walz was a supplicant beta, nodding along with Vance in hope that he didn't have to match with with him. Vance passed the test as VP and heir to Trump should he not last the entire term. He also came off as somebody who will soften Trump's rhetoric in actual implementation. It's hard to imagine that any undecided watched that and decided to vote for Harris/Walz.

7 pointsI know MDC doesn't need my support, but this post is pathetic. What the fock is wrong with you? Why would you needlessly attack someone's wife in such a way? I'll ask again, please delete your account. You are a large net negative on this site, and we would all be better for it.

7 pointsSo what we have here is a headline that states, in a definitive manner that 9/11 was an inside job. Then a main post from you that starts off with conviction... "a lot of people refuse to believe this" . Which then quickly shifts to 'ifs'... "if a court determined the evidence was true... then to a statement of "it's at least possible". you are the classic definition of someone who spends way too much time on social media looking for other people to tell you what your opinion should be ironically just to turn around and claim that other people are allowing the government to tell them what is real or not

7 pointsThe media is lying so badly on the polling. Kamala knows the truth. She is losing nationally. She is losing in PA. She is losing is MI and WI. She is losing in GA and AZ. All these early BS polls the elitist media hoists upon the public are lame attempts try to prop up the Democrat base. Unless Kamala can flip GA and PA, it is going to be an election bloodbath for Kamala. Kamala knows she needs a debate to win.
