Cultural existential threat: Marxism and Moral Relativism
Sean Mooney replied to jerryskids's topic in The Geek Club
OP: "Marxism is moving to other areas. Most notably racial marxism with BLM and sexual marxism with trans athletes. Now those won't kill the country but they are creating moral relativism which is an existential threat to the country and the tenets we were built on." Response: "So you think black people fighting for equality in treatment and trans athletes fighting for acceptance are going to ruin us. That's hilarious." Response to Response: "Whoa whoa whoa. I didn't say that. You didn't read the entire thread. you just took the first post that I typed with my own thoughts creating words and decided that is what I meant. What an idiot you are!!! if you'd have read the rest of the 7 pages with my drivel you'd see that I have moved away from some of that which means my first post was just hysterical BS to begin with." Jerry- I'm glad you woke up the other day and decided to bless us with whatever nonsense you heard from Prager U or whatever other think tank you stumbled upon that preys on low intelligence adults like you. Here is a simple fact for you (and a real fact- not some opinion piece you are trying to masquerade as "data" or "facts" or whatever other word you want to throw at it. Transgender people comprise 1.6% of the population according to the Pew Research Center. Since 2010 there have been 40 transgender athletes that have competed in sports at a collegiate level. So trans athletes were competing in women sports before it became a major political issue. So sorry- no, I don't see something that affects a minor subset of a subset of human beings as being anywhere on the track of being an existential threat- and Yes I'm speaking solely to your trans athlete fear mongering. And the next time you want to put fear mongering idiocy into the world. Be prepared to get called on it and get pushed back on for it. -

1. I’ve always been for abortion decisions to be between a woman and her doctor without government interference. Yes it’s a core conviction. Whether the state should fund it is a separate question, depends on the circumstances, usually not, and not a core conviction. 2. I have always been for generally open immigration, never open borders. I am generally extremely sympathetic to non-violent undocumented immigrants who have been law-abiding once they arrived here, and I want them to stay and be given amnesty (with certain conditions). Yes these are core convictions. 3. The trans question is pretty new to me. I have no convictions about it except that the government needs to leave these folks alone to do what they want so long as they don’t harm anybody else. That’s basic libertarianism and it’s a core conviction. Every other question surrounding this issue changes for me depending on the circumstances. -
I find it hard to not see trans as mental illness...
TheNewGirl replied to Fireballer's topic in The Geek Club
Just thinking out loud here... Do we have proof that body chemistry and trans are linked? I know that there is proof of other mental illnesses and body chemistry; too much of one or not enough of another, etc. they've taken MRIs of schizophrenic brains, brains where you can see what centers are active/underactive. Do we have the research and proof that gender dysphoria IS a brain chemistry thing? Just wondering. Gender dysphoria is the mental illness; transitioning is the "cure." However, are we taking into account those that desist or detrans? And if transitioning actually improves their life after? Upwards of 70% of them are still depressed, and they have an incredibly high suicide rate; even AFTER transitioning. That doesn't sound like much of a cure, at least in my non-doctoral opinion. -

I am not registered, I loathe politics and really both sides. I have no affiliation. I have an uncle who has dressed like a woman (mostly for shows) barbara streisand is one of his favorites. He only did it for show and not a lifestyle. Trans is a mental illness. -
You guys must really not think very highly of women’s athleticism. A dude going into the WNBA would have to be pretty good even as a male to make it in the WNBA. Probably like NCAA D2 level IMO. Has there ever even been any trans women in NCAA basketball, particularly D1? Doing a quick search I can’t find any, although there have been trans men that played on women’s teams before taking testosterone.

I mean at this point it is really simple. Either they do not allow Trans golfers or the entire field should withdraw and they should do that every time the trans golfer is allowed to play against women.

This unwillingness to call people what they are is a good reason why the Dems lost to Donald Trump. You can look at it through the lens of illegal immigrants, the whole trans thing, the hyphenation of every subset of American group. I know you'll disagree with me, but the people I know whose vote moved from Biden in '20 to Trump in '24 these type things along with the border were the main reasons. That thought may work in California, but if you want to win anywhere but the coasts, it won't. There's a reason those upper midwest states are trending more red toward purple where as they used to not be competitive. When the left insists on these issues, Donald Trump wins.

Yes, but I wrote in the last comment that Civil rights and affirmative action would fall under the umbrella of DEI but you know that current meaning with all training and trans inclusivity is a modern phenomena. I never used the term DEI in 2016 or before. Anyway, I don’t care about it: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DFk83cmPUBz/?igsh=c2c4NDMzZXZ1c3Nx -

15% of "women" in US prisons are transgender, whereas about 1% of the population are. 15%? Could there be men "self" identifying as women, for some combination of getting into softer facilities, with less risk of bodily harm, as well as continuing their history of assaulting women? Or maybe it's random that 15X of the prison population is trans women. -

Well Tim, to rationally thinking adults, it’s obvious that this huge push of trans ideology is harmful. That’s why it gets called out. The “obsessed” take is just a continual gun throw by several of you on this site. It’s pretty laughable really. Also, did you even read her tweet thread? She is one of those that you would have considered a “trusted medical expert” that you obtain your opinion from. She’s a card carrying WPATH member and everything. Do you discount her now that she’s drawing attention to things that counter your opinion? -

Maybe one day in the foreseeable future, trans ideology will be viewed for what it is, a dangerous social experiment. Hopefully the road won’t be littered with too many more mutilated and confused kids/adults. Also, great to see WPATH members resisting this, although they must just be trying to avoid lawsuits. They are the sick fuks responsible for most of this garbage. https://x.com/amayadeakins/status/1885455027629666574?s=46&t=DFWeVowvyy-F23jlecK3zw -
Republicans, particularly under Trump’s influence, have increasingly mirrored Viktor Orbán’s brand of right-wing authoritarianism, while Democrats have remained more aligned with liberal democratic norms. Here’s how the GOP resembles Orbán’s model of “illiberal democracy”: 1. Undermining Democratic Institutions – Like Orbán, Republicans have sought to weaken democratic norms by casting doubt on election integrity (e.g., Trump’s “Big Lie” about 2020), pushing voter suppression laws, and attempting to subvert election results through legal and extralegal means. 2. Control Over Media and Misinformation – Orbán has reshaped Hungary’s media landscape by consolidating control and pushing pro-government propaganda. Similarly, Republicans benefit from a right-wing media ecosystem (Fox News, OANN, Newsmax) that distorts reality, spreads conspiracy theories, and vilifies opponents. 3. Weaponizing Nationalism and Anti-Immigrant Rhetoric – Orbán’s hardline nationalism, built on fears of immigrants and cultural decline, closely parallels GOP rhetoric about “great replacement theory,” border security, and the demonization of asylum seekers. Both use xenophobia as a political tool. 4. Attacks on LGBTQ+ Rights and “Woke Culture” – Orbán has restricted LGBTQ+ rights under the guise of protecting traditional values, a tactic echoed by Republican efforts to ban books, limit trans rights, and frame diversity initiatives as “cultural Marxism.” 5. Judicial Manipulation – Orbán has stacked Hungary’s courts with loyalists to cement his power. Republicans, particularly under Trump and Mitch McConnell, similarly packed the judiciary with conservative judges, including the Supreme Court’s rightward shift, enabling decisions that roll back civil rights and entrench GOP power. 6. Authoritarian Admiration and Political Repression – Both Orbán and the GOP have shown a willingness to weaponize the state against political opponents, whether through legal crackdowns, gerrymandering, or demonizing opposition leaders as traitors. Trump’s attempts to prosecute rivals, encourage state repression, and dismiss democratic processes strongly echo Orbán’s tactics. In contrast, Democrats generally support pluralism, media independence, voting rights, and institutional checks—aligning more with traditional democratic values rather than Orbán’s illiberal model. The GOP’s shift toward Orbán-style governance reflects a broader global trend of right-wing populism rejecting liberal democracy in favor of authoritarian control.

I'm not forcing my lifestyle on anyone, but you can bet I will defend it. We've had enough of the hate and discrimination. This country's anti-trans rhetoric is unacceptable. Live your own life and leave us alone. We're no threat to your lifestyle, but people like you sure as hell are a threat to ours. Focus your energy on helping people and making the world a better place other than wallowing in senseless hate. We're not going anywhere, and we're more than capable of protecting ourselves. -
