gocolts 300 Posted August 19, 2006 haha. I'm twisting your claim? You're the one who said "the liberals". You didn't say "some liberals" did you? Therefore, you're implying it's the whole group, as if you can specifically define a liberal anyways. I didn't read this particular article but I am somewhat familiar with this case. Do we even know what political leanings this guy has or are you just assuming? Not that this is really worth discussing with you considering how ridiculous your statement is. I forgot. When you can't argue the facts, you have to try and put words in peoples mouth, and try to find some little wording thing you can try and twist and spin. Welcome, Maximus. I'm sure they do. You'll find that I am a liberal and not afraid to say it. I am more interested in going after others assumptions that I find to be untrue. For example, colts little assurtion that liberals are the sexually improper. I thought a nice list of con's that apparently are also for it would be nice. A few other assumptions on your part- "the liberal left"? Exactly what does that mean? Thats the same thing in my book. Wouldn't it be the anti-capitalist left, or the environment extreme left.... And another...left behind the ACLU? Why is the ACLU liberal? Since when did protecting the 1st amendment become a liberal thing? I can show you a bunch of liberals that hate the ACLU and their promotion of KKK rallies and hate speech. Would you then call them conservatives?

The Right wraps themselves in a flag and beats the bible and says you aren't American if you don't support Bush 100%. The Left does the same, except says you aren't American if you DO support him. clearly NEITHER image of the left or right is correct. like i said- most people are more centrist. MOST, not all. Nothing wrong with standing up for 1st Amendment rights. But some organizations are extreme in how they deal with things. like ELF- "Earth Liberation Front". Clearly an extremist group, though you could say their basic charter is to protect the Earth. a noble cause, but their actions don't necessarily reflect stable thinking. On the other side, "Focus on the Family". It sounds good on the surface, but when they support eliminating the teaching of Evolution from the schools, you clearly have to wonder about their mental stability. I was just trying to reiterate the point that both sides cast labels, both sides cast stones, and neither side is right...err, correct...all the time. i am always up for open, spirited debate...but when i hear someone cast a blanket over a side, it becomes impossible to discuss...you'll never reach that person. you dont strike me as that kind, so party on, Garth. Red White and Blue 81 Posted August 21, 2006 BTW, I'm tired of the "both sides do it!" refrain. It's polite but it's weak-minded. Yeah there are extremists on both sides but I can't name many left-wingers of any prominent who make the kind of extreme claims you hear from a Michelle Malkin, David Horowitz, Ann Coulter, etc. Are there any left-wingers who call for physical violence against their political opponents or deliberately post the addresses and phone numbers of people they disagree with in order to threaten them? Maybe, but unlike the right-wing blogosphere and media, those people usually don't get syndicated columns and appear on cable TV news on a regular basis. I think it's only becaues the GOP controls virtually all of government these days, but the news media is far more tolerant of extremists, nuts and bigots on the right than those on the left these days. gocolts 300 Posted August 21, 2006 Welcome, Maximus. Cause the ACLU tries to condemn the Boy scouts as a hate group and holds NAMBLA up on a pedestal.
Korben Dallas 0 Posted August 21, 2006 Cause the ACLU tries to condemn the Boy scouts as a hate group and holds NAMBLA up on a pedestal. Oh look, its the poster child for sexual deviant behavior. Care to comment on the massive GOP immoral disgusting behavior of the party LEADERSHIP I posted above? By evidence's sake and using your over-generalization skills-I'd say YOU are the supporter of Man-child sex, or at least your political persuasion is. btw: The ACLU does not defend NAMBLA's purpose. Only their right as a group to freedom of press, just like they protect the right wing organizations like the neo-nazi's and the world end'ers. And you didn't make a point. Why does that make them liberal and NOT ABSOLUTE DEFENDERS OF THE 1ST AMENDMENT? Prove otherwise? and I think their position on the Boy Scouts is wrong. Patriotsfatboy1 1,432 Posted August 22, 2006 While I understand that some people think that that godolts is over the top, why exactly do you want to beat him up? I think that wanting to squelch his opinions is one of the things that people make fun of the "right" about. He has the ability to voice his opinions and we have the right to abuse him in public based upon those views. To physically want to harm him is far too extreme and not really going to solve the issue. Calling his mother and putting parental controls on his computer is likely to be much more effective
