How much do you pay per month in health insurance?

Recommended Posts

I am considered self-employed even though I work for a school district. It is a contract that is separate from their certified system.

As such, I pay for all health insurance out of my own pocket. Family of five- I'm 36...my wife is soon to be 35 with three kids.......8,5, & 2.

I currently pay about $560 a month in health insurance ($1000 deductible) and about $75 a month for dental for the three of us.

Just curious if that's about what you all pay......I think it's about $160 a month apiece for my wife and me prior to adding the kids to the plan.

About $275 total for the month for me and Mrs. TBoy. That includes medical/dental and we get free vision.

when I was self employed the family plan was topping over $1100 a month - it was killing me. :wall:

Now union dues includes Family Health plan - $60 a month <_<

Are you asking how much of my hard earned money I spend to insure my family, or how much of my hard earned money taken in the form of taxes goes to buy healthcare for people who don't provide their own?

Altho I am mostly retired I still sell Health ins from time to time. The $ amount of the premium is meaningless without know ALL the policy details. From what you said Fumble, what you are paying is not out of line.

As an insurance professional I can tell you that you are paying about half that again for all the uninsured people as well. By uninsured, I mean ghettoites and illegals. And, it's going to get much worse before it gets any better.

Nothing. Blue Cross Blue Shield Personal Choice. Government job.

I might not have gotten any raises the last 3 to 4 years, but at least I don't have to worry about health insurance.

Covering medical, dental and vision, I pay $135/month for my son and myself.

I thought this was high, but it's not bad at all seeing what some of you are paying! :pointstosky:

our health care system is no doubt a complex and messed up situation that I don't believe will ever change for the better....but except for Michael Moore, most everyone on earth who needs serious medical help comes to US...if they can.

$132 a month. For me, my wife and daughter. This takes care of 80% of any bill thrown our way.

We also get free vision exam every 2 years, and free dental cleaning every 6 months.
