***NCAA Tournament Hat Challenge***

Since cmh is a bit busy, I will be taking over this year. Rules are the same as previous years:

 

What we do is, everyone signs up for any college team of their choice (if possible, homers should get first chance at their team).

 

Then, as the tournament progresses, if your team beats another team someone has laid claim to, the loser must send the winner a hat from the college they are representing.

 

If your team loses to a team not represented, then you don't have to get a hat for anyone. If your team wins the tournament you are likley going to end up with a few hats.

 

***Mike FF Today has offered to take all unselected teams seeded 1-14. Should your team beat one of these teams (Kansas St excluded, that is his 'real' team) you owe nothing, should your team beat one of these teams, he will send you an FFToday shirt!

 

***Now accepting an additional entry per person (unreliable people need not apply)

 

If the two parties agree to it, the loser can send a t-shirt instead of a cap. Anyone who wishes to take a team AFTER the brackets have been released must get approval from any represented teams that are likely to face them in the first few rounds.

 

Also, if anyone knows of a Geek who didn't send a hat/shirt that they owed, please let me know so we don't have any repeat welchers.

I'll take Memphis as I did last year. I should take Miss St, but someone like jocstrap or Mrdirt may want to take Miss St, so if I can only have one, I figure noone else wants Memphis.

 

I've paid off two years in a row, two years ago a Miss St hat to Rusty for Duke beating them, and last year a Memphis hat to shovelheadt for Ohio St beating Memphis.

 

Even though I sent Rusty a hat the previous year, I never got a Texas A&M hat last year after Memphis beat them in the sweet 16.

That's the problem with Missouri, can't keep the in-state kids from getting away. How do you let a mid-level talent get away to ASU, have to keep your best kids fro the state in Missoui. Until they start landing the Hansbroughs, Rushs, and even Coys they're not going anywhere fast. I doubt Mike Anderson lasts more than a couple years. Nice talent pool to pick from too if you can land the StL and KC ballers.

As for how they got him... Sendek is highly regarded and a good recruiter. Harden is one of the best frosh in the country and will play in the NBA one day. Pendergraph perhaps as well. Kids see that and are intrigued.

oh yeah i dont fault him nor blame him. His sisters even played d-2 ball around here, and his brother was a standout athlete as well. I'm sure going away wasn't a concern, it just shows the problems a once solid program like Missouri is dealing with.
