kinsey1986 0 Posted December 9, 2008 Okay, with the FF regular season over, and in the midst of the playoffs, let us gather round and brag about our best draft choices. Steve Slaton in the 14th round: I saw him play in college, figured he'd be a decent Flex option by end of year...he is now an every week starter for me Jay Cutler in the 8th: I waited on QB this year and it payed off for me. Westbrook in the 1st, 3rd overall: Okay this may be a stretch...ADP was taken first overall, Tom Brady 2nd(!) so it wa between LDT and Westbrook...logic said LDT, but I went with Westbrook, and his last 2 weeks have propelled me to the playoffs and through the first round What're yours? Ronnie Brown Vincent Jackson Tony Sheffler Those are the only 3 players on my roster that i drafted that i am starting this week. I also have Portis, and Brees though, but i am benching those guys. kinsey1986 0 Posted December 9, 2008 I didn't list this because I still don't have him....I drafted Thomas Jones in the 6th, getting ridiculed for passing over Darren McFadden. I kept him and played him until the Cincy game, then got offered MJD for him. I accepted. SO it was a great draft choice that I f'd up by trading lol

Stewburtx8 67 Posted December 9, 2008 12 team PPR league, had 6th pick. We start QB, RB, WR, TE, RB/WR, RB/WR, WR/TE, 3 IDP's, K.......10-4..ended up 2nd overall and lost the regular season money by 4 total points in tiebreaker becuz of that Deangelo Williams late TD BS last night...im not happy....but... 1st- SJax (still think he could be huge in playoffs, but not great soo far) 2nd- R.Bush (been a good pick besides missing a couple games, still a top 8 RB with less games played) 3rd- Romo (also injured but has been a top 5 QB) 4th- Winslow (loved his ppr ability, but now im starting Keller and dropped Kellen) 5th- Marshall (great pick, draft was early so he was still sitting at a 3 game suspension at the time) 6th- De.Ryans (been a pretty solid tackler all year, but not up to this standard of pick, was 3rd IDP taken) 7th- D.Bowe (been a very solid pick this late in a ppr league) 8th- M.Forte (best pick of the year, has been the top RB in league) 9th- Briggs (very solid IDP) My draft kind of went downhill from here and my depth has been inconsistent. Have had some good weeks from Camarillo, S.Morris, K.Smith, F.Jones, etc, but not very consistent. All my losses came midseason with byes and injuries. But now that my starting lineup is back in full force..i like my chances....

ChazzyCelotts 1 Posted December 9, 2008 No question the best pick i made or probably was made in all of fantasy fb land was my selection of Dangelo Williams in the... 12th round. 10 team league, but nobody in the league thought he would be any good and with Stewart coming i guess that was y he wasnt picked. but regardless i dropped him after 3 weeks for some unknown reason and i am out of the playoffs because of it
Grizzly 0 Posted December 9, 2008 My good draft Portis -first Jennings 5th cutler 7th Mason 10th near misses Grant 2nd Plaxico 4th wiff J lewis 3rd My bad draft Lynch 1st Mcgahee 2nd Ocho Cinqo 3rd It doesn't get much better after that. The draft was early and was able to pick up CJ, L White E Royal, L Moore and A Rogers off the wire.
jdon 28 Posted December 9, 2008 I had portis, t. Jones, and CJ3 in pretty much every league I was in... I drafted Boldin in half of them as well... unfortunately I took dallas clark and ocho asso all the time too. This year I didn't vary too much and drafted almost from the same rankings in every league. I am alive in 1 of four leagues. Another one I was top points and not in the playoffs anymore (is it fair to hate boldin for the last two weeks?) jdon

bzengler 0 Posted December 9, 2008 4.05 Matt Forte 6.05 Calvin Johnson (who I traded for MJD and Holmes because I was afraid of the dropoff after Kitna went out; kind of a wash) 9.08 Chris Johnson 13.08 Aaron Rodgers (Drafted Brady in Round 1, so this REALLY paid off!) After many trades, I have ended up with a team in Round 2 of the playoffs: QB - Rodgers RB1 - Forte RB2 - CJ3 Flex - MJD WR1 - Jennings (traded Benson, Cassel, and Cotchery for him and some other scrubs) WR2 - Berrian (traded Cotchery, whom I got back later for Ray Rice, and Grant for Berrian and Benson. wanted to upgrade WR) WR3 - Ted Ginn Jr. TE - Olsen Def - Cards/Redskins/whoever I can find on wavers that is playing STL K - Rackers

De Novo 0 Posted December 9, 2008 Probably the best draft I've ever had... 9 of my picks were Home Runs, and I'd have the best team even if I didn't make a single transaction all year. shutdown 40 Posted December 10, 2008 14 Team - single Keeper. Pick Player Pts 1.K Joseph Addai (RB IND) 79.5 - Keeper, wish I wouldn't have, but I didn't have much choice here 2.11 Brandon Marshall (WR DEN) 99.5 - Could have done worse. 3.04 Steve Smith (WR CAR) 110.1 - Good value here, he's the #5 WR based on points per game in my league. 4.11 Thomas Jones (RB NYJ) 181.8 - Probably my second best pick. 5.04 Jeremy Shockey (TE NO) 23.8 - Wasted Pick - Cut 6.11 Jay Cutler (QB DEN) 167.5 - Wanted Eli, he was taken just prior. Who says luck doesn't play a part. 7.04 DeAngelo Williams (RB CAR)183.1 - Traded for Ravens DST. 8.11 Isaac Bruce (WR SF) 81.5 - Not bad for round 8 - Traded in package for K. Winslow. 9.04 Kevin Walter (WR HOU) 101.1 - Solid spot starter good value for this pick 10.11 Chris Perry (RB CIN) 26 - Seemed like a good pick at the time, turned into a bust. 11.04 Raiders (DST OAK) 92.5 - Reached for them, thought their easy schedule would make them a top DST 12.11 J.T. O'Sullivan (QB SF) 54.9 - Wasted pick, got benched when I needed him to fill in for Cutler 13.04 Josh Morgan (WR SF) 24.7 - Sleeper, didn't really pan out. 14.11 Panthers (DST CAR) 98.5 - Average DST Traded in package for Colston. 15.04 Antonio Bryant (WR TB) 102.9 - Sleeper, worked out later in the year (After I dropped him) 16.11 Dolphins (DST MIA) 111.5 - Solid DST - Traded in package for Baltimore DST 17.04 Robert Meachem (WR NO) 26.6 - Used him 1 week where he had a good game. Useless otherwise. Was cut early. Players in Bold are still on my roster Probably my best overall draft ever. The trade of DeAngelo - maybe not the smartest move, though in my league Defenses do matter and Baltimore has matched D. Will in terms of points scored. However I would probably be better off with D. Wil and Miami in my lineup instead of Baltimore / Addai, but trading him hasn't killed me.
