CantTouchThis 23 Posted January 26, 2010 AVATAR now the highest grossing film of all time Though it's been a foregone conclusion for a while now, it's official. Should easily reach over 2 billion. It's definitely not the greatest movie of all time, but it is a very good movie...and it is much better than Titanic which i love seeing getting dethroned. Jeebus, Cameron now has the 2 highest grossing films by far, by FAR. Best movie since the Dark Knight, which i do think is a better movie overall.

FranksTanks 0 Posted January 26, 2010 Just saw it Friday, 3D Imax. Awesome movie!! The experience alone was absolutely worth the money and the wait to get the time slot on the day I wanted. My only complaint was, at my theater, the movie just started without previews, any text, or opening credits, etc... The first few minutes I thought I was watching a preview until they said Pandora..I was like oh sh!t, I should be paying attention.

Im not shitting you it seemed like we sat through 30 min of commercials. At one point they told us to make sure our glasses on and I was sure we were in for the movie........nope. A few 3d commercials. I like the movie and look forward to seeing more 3d movies like that.

After the first 15 min or so it felt more natural than I ever expected. If other movies can do it this good, I'll look forward to watching more movies in 3D as well. I watched monsters inc in 3d and was worried it would be something like that which was a let down. Cameron is a genius because i dont see why any studio wouldn't want especially their superhero movies made like this.

gocolts 300 Posted January 30, 2010 BEFORE the movie, seriously, i never got why people can't go a whole movie without taking a piss. Maybe because my bladder is stretched out like a russian wh0res vag due to kayaking(can't really go without tipping it over). I think I was just paranoid because 3 hours seemed long for a movie. I have never had to leave the middle of a movie before to take a leak. Didn't have to get up once during the movie. So my son flat out loved it. On our way home, he said "Wouldn't it be cool if they had an Avatar video game." I said they do and ended up taking him to the video rental store and rented it for the weekend. Pretty cool seeing how thrilled he was.

The first few minutes I thought I was watching a preview until they said Pandora..I was like oh sh!t, I should be paying attention. Wow that kinda sucks. Hell, the previews were freaking cool too. They had a preview about something with the hubble space telescope and it had some astronauts space walking and it was like thier tether was going to hit me in the face. They were right there on top of us. My son was nearly yelling with excitement. The previews were all in 3D.
jgcrawfish 232 Posted February 1, 2010 i bit the bullet and took the wife and kids to see it this weekend. as much as I hate to say it, it's actually a good flick. there is very little you can say about it that's negative when you exit the theater. the plot is strong, visually it's absolutely stunning (particularly) in 3D, there's enough fighting for guys and violence, enough colors and love for chicks. The only critiques I can come up with are weak: First, I took 7 yr olds, and the language was a little harsher than I figured. Second, sometimes the 3D actually detracts from the movie. I found myself watching furns and flowers and crap go by on the side of screen instead of watching the action. All things considered, there's a reason this movie just freakin blew by Titanic for most sales in the history of ever, and it's not just because the tickets are 50%+ more expensive than when Titanic was out. This movie will force me to buy a BlueRay.

The Moz 71 Posted February 1, 2010 have heard Worthington and Saldana have already agreed to do a sequel. Cam still isn't certain he wants to - said to be torn between the obvious huge money maker and ruining the the movie as a stand alone by making it a franchise. GettnHuge 2 Posted February 2, 2010 Or a singularly stupid one, who would criticize something he hasn't even seen. smart enough to not be parted with my money. I'm sure you are so pure that you've never critiqued or complained about anything you haven't owned, done or seen. Without seeing the Tooth Fairy, I can say that it surely sucks hard. You should go see this epic film and give us a review.

If $ truly does = time you would have saved yourself a ton of it just by going to see the movie. You seem a bit obsessed with telling us all how stupid we are for seeing and actually liking this movie. Some people like to escape for a few hours with the kids and watch a movie, This one just happened to be really good and groundbreaking at the same time. His argument doesn't make sense. just cause there are better movies out there, we shouldn't see this one? According to that logic, we should just see one movie...ever. That was 1 story when there are many saying he will do a trilogy and have this as his "Star Wars". personally I would let it end at this - It's not like Cam needs money anyway. But i think they do another with or without Cam - as I said too much money is there to be made. Worthington and Saldana already agreed to a sequel as well. Supposedly the story in Cam's version will go to other moons but still involve those 2.
