The judge was killed according to 4 confirmed sources from MSNBC.

 

FoxNews reported that at least one of the dead (and the number was up to 6 at one point) is a child.

Suspect had a Glock 9mm. At least 3 people at the rally had guns and at least one of them returned fire on the gunman.

And the doctors are saying they are optimistic about Giffords pulling through.

It seems crazy that someone might survive a headshot, but I got a story for you.

 

I've got a buddy that has served as an ER doc in Iraq and Afghanistan. He's seen some pretty nastyshit. This past Thanksgiving, he was telling me about a guy that was shot in the left temple with the bullet exiting through the right eye. He starts by cleaning off his face what he thinks is an eyeball, but it turns out to be gray matter. The crazy thing is, the guy was still talking and relatively coherent, even though his brain was spilling out of his eye socket. So he patched him up and sent him on to an actual hospital.

 

He says he's seen crazy stuff like this all the time.
