It's an EXCITING Time to be a Seahawks Fan

Recommended Posts

 What can I say...you guys called for an appearance, so an appearance you got. You spend more time talking about me than your pathetic doosh of a team.

Well you do spend as much time in this topic as any Seahawks fan.

Jesus is in the last year of his deal.

And Jackson will only have 1 year left.

I'd say whoever we go with will have the rains from day 1. And hopefully he can teach himself.

I'd imagine we'd bring in an experienced vet to back him up and give him some advice.

I think I just shot a load on the interception.

Maybe not.

Focking us out of a draft pick.

Aw, fock it. 5-11 could win the division this year.

We'll probably lose to them on the road. We'll beat the Rams or the 49ers at home at some point.

2-14 could be enough!!

Hey, let's not overlook that when Chicago beat Atlanta Week One, Chicago was one of the top 3 teams in the league.

Um, then Atlanta beat the Eagles, so they were one of the top 3 teams in the league.

After Week 3...

Seattle 1-2

Atlanta 1-2

Chicago 1-2

Suck it.

Well, Pittsburgh is 1-1, so let's see what happens tonight. For you retards that fight with the Seahawk fans in this thread, it's time to get humble. Get on your knees. My helmet needs some polishing.

I havn't watched yesterdays game yet. Spent the last 2 weeks wearing my Hasselbeck jersey and watching Tennessee.

:(

Anyways, I'll get to our game later in the week. But I gotta say. As of right now, I think that even after the win. Even Whitehurst would be better than a:

run

checkdown

checkdown

run

run

throw 5 yards

checkdown

run

run

throw 6 yards

run

throw 15 yards - woohoo big play

I'm tired of typing

Don't believe anything you read about the offense moving in the right direction. This is a painful offense to watch. Jackson is clueless 99% of the time. Lynch looks like he is running in quick sand, the OL is mediocre at best. It just sucks that the Rams, Cards, and Chiefs are probably worse than the Hawks so that will eliminate us from the Luck sweepstakes. <_<

I could see the Colts packing it in just like they did in 1998.

Tavaris is the definition of awful. I can't remember because it was a while ago, but was Mirer even this bad? McGuire and Stauffer were a little before my time, but I can't imagine them being much worse either. He's just clueless, why the fock didn't Minnesota turn him into a receiver?

At least we didn't invest in Kolb. If he didn't have Fitzgerald.....he'd still be better then Tavaris, but he'd be pretty bad! I was laughing my ass off listening to Costas question Philly for trading this turd. Alex Smith might be the second best QB in this division!!! :shocking:

Also, 2 Bear losses = 2 Sweetness free weeks.

Mirer wasn't as bad, nor was Stouffer. McGwire was just as bad.

I hated McGwire. Mirer was actually good his rookie year. And if that was his floor, he would've turned out to be pretty good. As it turned out, that was his ceiling, and the best he ever looked.

There was something about Mirer not being able to throw to either the left, or the right side of the field, I can't remember which. When defenses figured that out. They overloaded his good side forcing him to throw into coverage, or choosing the other side of the field that he couldn't make the throws to.

It was actually a really interesting article on him. I'll see if I can dig it up.

This team is reminding me of the early 90's, Solid D, No O. Overall record will still suck. They will get a couple divisional wins to knock them out of the Luck race. SMH

I'm still preferable to the ground chuck days.

Those were our best uniforms, man those old blue and silver looked awesome.

I liked and hugely respected Chuck Knox. We had a great defense. A good running game. And a QB i liked in Kreig. The kingdome was always rockin.

We never won a bowl, but those were good times to be a fan.

To bad we weren't owned by Allen then.

Looks like Bust Curry is trying to force his way out before the end of the season. Good riddance!

On Monday, coach Pete Carroll left linebacker Aaron Curry's role with the team open-ended.

"It's how he responds and fights back and competes that will be important," Carroll said after Curry's demotion from the first-unit defense.

Curry made several responses on Twitter this week that probably weren't what the coach had in mind.

Curry, the No. 4 overall selection in the 2009 draft, used his Twitter account to indicate that a trade from Seattle may be possible, he expressed enthusiasm about the possibility of playing for the NFL team in his home state of North Carolina and at one point appeared to refer to the Seahawks as "they."

Perhaps, there was no significance to Curry's words beyond cyberspace, but it was puzzling and can't help what is an increasingly strained situation for the former first-round pick.

Before the regular season began, Curry's six-year contract was renegotiated, eliminating the final two years of a deal that was scheduled to run through 2014. It also eliminated the financial guarantees Seattle had to him past this season.

The new contract did not change his status for this season, Carroll said. Curry remained the starting strongside linebacker when the season began. He played well in the opener, but in Week 2 — by his own admission — he made two mistakes that turned out to be costly.

Last week, he was replaced by rookie K.J. Wright with the first-unit defense. Curry was the first player out of the tunnel as the Seahawks ran onto the field. He played one series in Wright's place in the first half, but most of Curry's playing time occurred on special teams.

On Monday, Carroll left open the possibility Curry could play his way back into the first-unit defense.

"Competition is a motivator, and hopefully it motivates all our guys," Carroll said. "In this case for Aaron, I think he's highly motivated to get back in there."

This is where the situation gets complicated, because Curry remained upbeat on his Twitter account and he never directly indicated unhappiness with Seattle.

But on Sunday evening, someone addressed Curry, congratulating him on the victory. Curry responded to that user Monday morning: "yea, they won."

Monday afternoon, someone asked if it was true that Seattle was shopping Curry, and expressed hope that wasn't the case. "It's possible," Curry responded.

Just after 4 o'clock Monday, Curry was asked how he would feel about playing for his home-state Carolina Panthers. Curry indicated he would be ecstatic. A user from Philadelphia said to Curry the Eagles needed a linebacker, and expressed hope that could be a landing spot.

"Yea, that is the word," responded Curry.

It's very unlikely Curry would be traded. His base salary alone remains $5 million this season, which would make other teams leery to take on that financial commitment for a short-term fix.

There were no indications Tuesday that there was any change to his status with the Seahawks. He is listed as Wright's backup at strongside linebacker in the team's official release for this week.

It appears the two sides are headed for a split, and it appears the question now is how clean the break will be.

Ruskell would be our only hope. Curry is too Stoopid to help anybody out this year and it's no secret he'll be available next season. But never underestimate the incompetence of the Chicago Bears.

Good thing the Falcons abandoned the run, it's keeping the Hawks in it.

All Non-Hawk Fans (Iceman in particular) You're welcome for me keeping this topic bumped.

Good effort indeed. Jackson was amazingly decent when it mattered. The Falcons were probably as shocked as I was. Rice makes a big difference obviously.

4 & 8 with 1 Time Out left and you opt for a 61 yard FG? Uncle Pete has some 'splaining to do.

My thoughts also.

But I gotta say , I like the direction their headed.

And Baldwin's the man. :pointstosky:

I can't wait to see what Rice can do with a decent quarterback. Dude looks spry out there.

Definitely a huge step up form the Falcons game last year. I think a few NFC teams are sinking down to the level of the NFC West.

I feel like a bad fan, I watched the Standford/UCLA game on Saturday night and Luck had this amazing play where he lateraled, sprinted out for a pass and made this amazing one handed grab on the side line, just an amazing display of athletcism.

I was actually mad we came storming back and internally rooted for the kick to miss that would have won the game for us just because I want us to get Luck. This is just a weird place to be as a fan, and I dont know what to make of it. Frankly Indianapolis is so bad they might just go 0-16, that would actually be kind of a tough decision for them, they have an out in Mannings contract where they can drop the rest of his contract at the end of the year, what do they do if they get Luck?

I am actually concerned because Tavaris and the offense looked good in the second half again this week, this is several weeks in a row where they have been putrid in the first half and looked very good in the second half. What is going on?

Don't kill yourself rooting for Luck. Way too many variables involved. In fact, because the Hawks play in the NFC West they could easily win 5 games right there which for all intents and purposes puts Luck out of our reach.

Last week, a report surfaced indicating that the Seattle Seahawks were not only open to trading linebacker Aaron Curry, but that they were in talks with three teams about a trade. At the time, speculation pegged the Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings as potential destinations.

Monday afternoon, Steve Reed of the Gaston Gazette reported that the Panthers "might be interested," but that the Eagles and Green Bay Packers could also be in the mix.

This is not to say that any of these teams will be the ones to acquire Curry -- if he's even traded at all -- but it certainly appears that there's some interest around the league in the former No. 4 overall pick.

Nice little tidbit from ESPN, we might actually get something for him.
