I have to wonder if it's something like diabetes, where they want to have a plan in place on how they're dealing with it before they announce it.

 

This could be a possibilty, it took us about 2-months to diagnose my sons diabetes, which was back in 2007 (he was 11 at the time). Although I would think nowadays it shouldn't take this long, but you never know. I have my sights on Maclin around rd 5, hopefully we find out something soon and he'll be alright.

I looked up the symptoms of diabetes, and a couple of type 1 are fatigue and weight loss.

 

That said, I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Fatigue and weight loss are definitely a couple symptoms, but the two most obvious are extreme thirst and frequent urination; I wish it wouldn't have taken us so long to see the signs for my son!! Living in Chicago, and knowing what my kid goes though with H.S. baseball, what Cutler is doing at this level is pretty much amazing, whether you like the guy or not.

There are rumors of that but that's all they are right now. Rumors. Nothing reliable. It's been denied too so it's probably not true.

Deshaun Jackson is the known #1 and ready to play. Now, it seems to me Steve Smith (formerly of the Giants) will be the #2 man. This in itself can't be real good news for Maclin owners. Steve Smith won't get many touchdowns but he will get near 100 yards several times. If Brent Celek gets his share of the passes, there won't be much left for Maclin. Unless some fabulous news comes out on him, I'm not drafting him.

The Eagles didn't give an update on Jeremy Maclin's (illness) status Tuesday, but GM Howie Roseman fully expects the receiver back in town when the team returns to NovaCare this weekend.

"We totally anticipate Jeremy being part of our football team," Roseman said. "We anticipate him being back here shortly." Coach Andy Reid hinted that an announcement could still be forthcoming. "Today, right? Well possibly today," said Reid. "We have a few hours. ... We're still waiting for some tests to come in."

I'm not that keen on drafting a player who has to reassure everyone that he does not, in fact, have AIDS or cancer. Maybe Maclin is really right as rain and gets right back into the fold of things, but I think there's too much risk that this issue, whatever it is, lingers long into the season.
