SameSongNDance 0 Posted September 22, 2011 Yahoo! Sports' Michael Silver reports Cedric Benson will be suspended three games for violating the personal conduct policy during the lockout. Benson has already spent time in Commissioner Goodell's office for previous infractions, so he's being treated as a repeat offender. He's expected to play this week against the 49ers before his appeal is heard next Thursday. Should the appeal fail, Benson would then miss a trio of attractive matchupss against the Bills, Jaguars, and Colts. Bernard Scott and Brian Leonard will likely split the workload in place of Benson. A legit playmaker, Scott is the preferred waiver pickup. Grabbed Scott in all my leagues...

I've been holding onto Scott in dynasty league for some time now, he just got a bit more valuable as trade bait to the Benson owner. I don't have room for him my other leagues. Jedi Sensei 17 Posted September 22, 2011 No one else was suspended for violations during the lockout -- even repeat offenders like Britt & Talib -- why should Ced? I'm not fully buying this...

cyclone24 1,935 Posted September 22, 2011 I dropped D Moore to grab him...it would help me immensely with bye weeks if he becomes the starter for a few weeks.

This is probably why he is filing an appeal. I had figured this would have beed addressed prior to this time. I dont care if he deserves the suspension or not. The NFL should have announced their intention to discipline regarding this prior to the start of the regular season. Why they have decided to do this after week 2 is a mystery to me. and now it looks like they are ignoring the actions of some while punishing others. This is poor. Truck Jackson 0 Posted September 23, 2011 If this suspension is upheld, there is no way Britt doesn't have one coming right?
mrmcgibblets 0 Posted September 23, 2011 If this suspension is upheld, there is no way Britt doesn't have one coming right? Britt was already told by Goddell that no suspension would be coming his way.
gocolts 300 Posted September 23, 2011 Britt was already told by Goddell that no suspension would be coming his way. Hopefully he can stay out of trouble for the rest of the year.

shovelheadt 72 Posted September 23, 2011 I think the key words here is "repeat offender". This, and I don't anyone else has pulled jail time have they? Britt and Talib are still pending aren't they?
mr_bungalow 1 Posted September 23, 2011 I got McCluster off the waivers this week.. he's about the only guy I could drop to pick up Scott. Would you do it? My other RBs are: MJD, Matthews, and Brandon Jacobs. This is a yahoo league where McCluster is a RB/WR.
jgcrawfish 232 Posted September 23, 2011 This, and I don't anyone else has pulled jail time have they? Britt and Talib are still pending aren't they? I believe Ced pled no contest and served the time already. Basically an admission of guilt. League factors that in.
American Chewy 98 Posted September 23, 2011 scott has had several opportunities over the past couple of years to take over the job and each time he completely underwhelmed. he's just not an every down guy. i would expect him and leonard to split. really though, i hope benson wins the appeal or gets it reduced. really sucks to be missing this great stretch of matchups, not to mention not having him with bye weeks starting week after next.
