frank 2,345 Posted February 6, 2012 So I'm in line at Walmart and the woman a couple of people in front of me is taking forever. She kept talking to the cashier and swiping her card. At one point, the cashier walks around the counter and grabs about 10 Cadbury eggs. I eventually realized what was going on. The woman was buying 1 egg at a time, putting it on her card and getting extra cash. She was doing this over and over. I chose to switch lines rather than beating her to death. MTSkiBum 1,626 Posted February 6, 2012 Congratulations. You destroyed the local American mom & pop business Those mom and pop businesses pay the same wages as walmart pays, and the walmart managers make the same as the mom and pop owners. The only difference is I save money. In response to your other post: Mom and pop businesses usually provide no benefits and have rampat nepotism. Walmart has less discrimination than the competition. I think walmart gets an unfair rap.

CantTouchThis 23 Posted February 6, 2012 Walmart is always fun. I like people who cash their paychecks with the cashier. I was thinking "You do know a bank account is free?" and "Direct deposit is the best thing since sliced bread". I think walmart gets an unfair rap. You're right. Local business are very competitive with Walmart. As far as "nepotism" goes, do you mean they pass the business on to their kids? And your less discrimination point needs support. There have been tens of thousands of people who have sued Walmart for discrimination, including a current suit with 50,000 Texas women as plaintiffs. titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted February 7, 2012 This. Also, can someone please explain the egg thing to me. I really don't get it. What purpose would buying one egg at a time have? You can only get a certain amount of cash over the purchase price back, usually $50 or so. So by doing it 10 times, she got $500. It was prolly a stolen card. I was behind a lady in line once at Kroger that was pulling this crap... She would buy a massive ($1,000) Kroger (grocery store) gift card, using her AMEX. So she is getting amex points. Then she would take the kroger card, and buy best buy cards with it. Now she is getting kroger feul points. She did this like 14 times with different store gift cards. She prolly then went to the store, like best buy, bought a bunch of crap, then returned it and got cash back, thus getting all the points for free. Its like when the $1 coins came out. You could order them from the mint. I had a co worker that ordered his credit card limit worth of them ($4000 or so). When they arrived, he took them to the bank, deposited them, and then paid the bill, and thus got free frequent flier miles. People are dooshes.
drobeski 3,061 Posted February 7, 2012 I'm gonna go ahead and assume its just another typical libtard scheme where they are turning their government issued ebt cards into crack dollars.

Riddlen 1 Posted February 7, 2012 +1 who the heck cares? I am lucky to have Meijer (a nice, midewest version of Walmart with similiar pricing) but I go to Walmart on occasion. There is not one by my house, but I go there from work on ocassion. How can anyone be too good for Walmart. Get over yourselves.
MDC 7,887 Posted February 7, 2012 That's what you get when you live in the ghetto. No no, you misunderstand - every Walmart I've been to everywhere is ghetto. Cruzer 1,996 Posted February 7, 2012 I boycott Walmart, and everyone who loves America should do the same. There's more to life than cheap sweatpants and hungry man dinners. Walmart could be named Poopy-Face, global leader in clown noses, as long as they were they biggest company in the world they are always going to have pending litigation against them. It's just the law of the land, the biggest and richest is always going to have do deal with this side of it. As an example, and not getting into anything specific, our firm represents American Airlines and Pier 1 Imports - I can tell you first hand that we are in constant defense litigation of those companies for labor related matters, again - constantly. Is Wal-mart ghetto? Yea prolly, but the particular Walmarts I visit are located in some pretty nice areas. If I'm going to pick up the American flag and start boycotting everything that clashes with my patriotism I'll have to cut out all kinds of companies, including the likes of AT&T (or any cell phone provider), General Motors, Ford, Exxon-Mobile (or pick an oil company), General Electric, Bank of America, etc.

nikki2200 4 Posted February 7, 2012 You don't shop there.......but have been to them all over the country. I guess you just go to gawk at the wimmens that go 3 bills wearing yoga pants. It is remotely possible that he has been to a bunch of Walmarts in different places, formed a judgment about the experience, and made a decision to stop going there. Hence the "I DON'T shop at Walmart" - present tense. Now if he had said something like "I have never shopped at Walmart", your point may make a little sense. Did everyone's brain fall out today? Vikings4ever 568 Posted February 7, 2012 Is Wal-mart ghetto? Yea prolly, but the particular Walmarts I visit are located in some pretty nice areas. I'd say there's a correlation between ghettoness and when the stores were built. There's 2 Walmarts in my area. One was built more than 20 years ago; the other about 10 (and expanded to a Supercenter about 5). No real difference in clientele, but the older one just feel infinitely more ghetto than the newer one.
