frank 2,345 Posted February 6, 2012 So I'm in line at Walmart and the woman a couple of people in front of me is taking forever. She kept talking to the cashier and swiping her card. At one point, the cashier walks around the counter and grabs about 10 Cadbury eggs. I eventually realized what was going on. The woman was buying 1 egg at a time, putting it on her card and getting extra cash. She was doing this over and over. I chose to switch lines rather than beating her to death. You can only get a certain amount of cash over the purchase price back, usually $50 or so. So by doing it 10 times, she got $500. It was prolly a stolen card. I was behind a lady in line once at Kroger that was pulling this crap... She would buy a massive ($1,000) Kroger (grocery store) gift card, using her AMEX. So she is getting amex points. Then she would take the kroger card, and buy best buy cards with it. Now she is getting kroger feul points. She did this like 14 times with different store gift cards. She prolly then went to the store, like best buy, bought a bunch of crap, then returned it and got cash back, thus getting all the points for free. Its like when the $1 coins came out. You could order them from the mint. I had a co worker that ordered his credit card limit worth of them ($4000 or so). Walmart could be named Poopy-Face, global leader in clown noses, as long as they were they biggest company in the world they are always going to have pending litigation against them. It's just the law of the land, the biggest and richest is always going to have do deal with this side of it. As an example, and not getting into anything specific, our firm represents American Airlines and Pier 1 Imports - I can tell you first hand that we are in constant defense litigation of those companies for labor related matters, again - constantly. Is Wal-mart ghetto? Yea prolly, but the particular Walmarts I visit are located in some pretty nice areas. If I'm going to pick up the American flag and start boycotting everything that clashes with my patriotism I'll have to cut out all kinds of companies, including the likes of AT&T (or any cell phone provider), General Motors, Ford, Exxon-Mobile (or pick an oil company), General Electric, Bank of America, etc. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I'd say there's a correlation between ghettoness and when the stores were built. There's 2 Walmarts in my area. One was built more than 20 years ago; the other about 10 (and expanded to a Supercenter about 5).
