southcarolina 166 Posted March 19, 2012 Another vote for box fan at the foot of the bed. For both air and noise. Yup. 15 bucks and it cures night sweats, mild tinnitus, neighbor dog barking, over the covers flatulence, provides cover for mommy and daddy alone time, saves electricity (run A/C less), AND makes easy robot voices to scare off intruders. Those things ought to cost hundreds of dollars.

TD Ryan2 316 Posted March 19, 2012 I don't understand people who WANT noise to sleep at night. Personally I want everything as quiet as possible. you ever live in a college dorm? a fan was a must, not for the cooling breeze but for the "white noise" that could block out all the noise of the dorm. jerryskids 6,790 Posted March 19, 2012 constant low noise > intermittent noises Related rant: at 4:45 this morning I was awakened by the chirp of a smoke alarm with a dying battery. Of course it was the highest one in the house (about 15 ft), so I had to wait until it woke my son up so he could hold the ladder. Plugging the new battery in caused even louder chirping initially, which woke my wife and one of my daughters. Why do those batteries always go out in the middle of the focking night. titans&bucs&bearsohmy! 2,745 Posted March 19, 2012 You would think the government would have some kind of law against that. Most states do, but its due to bedbugs I think. There used to be a place in town that sold old hotel matresses.

phillybear 366 Posted March 20, 2012 You go directly to the mattress wholesaler/factory, spend 500 bucks, tie it to the roof of your car, drive it home. Or have it delivered. Done and done. 4,000 bucks is why women should never do math.

phillybear 366 Posted March 20, 2012 But how else is she gonna brag about how rich she is ? Well, she could place a pea under 20 mattresses and 20 feather beds, then the following morning complain about a sleepless night and bruising because she was kept awake by something hard inside her shitter. WhiteWonder 2,734 Posted March 20, 2012 Because it doesnt, I'm willing to bet anything that jerrys are hard wired ...bozo Idk mine are hardwired and they never chirp due to low battery. I would assume the battery would only drain if you lose power which would make chirping very rare. It's a valid assumption, I see little reason to be a tool about it. I went through a rampage back in the day ripping them down in my old apartment with 15' ceilings one awful night... Know the pain... I have a carbon monoxide sensor in my place that you can't turn off to move, once removed from a plug it goes off until replugged and enough time to recalibrate itself... Bastard things, it was on the top floor too, does CO even rise? always thought it was usually on the lowest floor...

SUXBNME 1,499 Posted March 24, 2012 I don't understand people who WANT noise to sleep at night. Personally I want everything as quiet as possible. Depends on the noise I guess. Some people I know can't fall asleep unless they have some form of white noise in the background. Myself, I like to fall asleep with the TV on, but at a lower volume level than I would normally play it versus watching it. My top 3 TV stations to that I leave on when attempting sleep: Fox (usually it's either Greta or "The Five" on when I pass out) MSNBC (Prolly either the end of that Maddow dudes show or The Ed Show) Comcast digital music channels (Whichever one reminds me of OldMaid at the time)
