Don't think anyone thought he'd be a great play the first game of the year. Lots of reports that Turner looked old and slow and didn't match up very well with an even more pass happy offense and it certainly looked that way against the Chiefs to me.

 

Rodgers will be a nice 3rd RB in a few weeks I think............should continue to see more playing time at Turner's expense. If the Falcons are going to be explosive they cannot have Turner back there.

hold, but honestly im not hopeful. The falcs only need a rb for one thing, to pound when needed, and quizz doesnt fit that role. I dont agree w the popular opinion that by midseason he will be a ppr machine and gettin all these looks in the passing game and making jerious norwood plays left and right. The falcons have a gameplan and i dont think its using quizz, its pounding turner, and only when needed. That said, quizz is on my bench.

I say hold. You drafted him (hopefully) thinking that he would not be a starter for you until he was able to take on enough of a role to be a player. I say keep that thought and see where he goes unless someone is wiling to help you fill a need in a trade.

I live in the ATL area and all the talk here has been about how bad Turner looked, and how the Falcons really need to find an alternative.

They just aren't sure that Rodgers is that alternative. Turner is pretty clearly trending downward and it looks like Koetter doesn't trust him to punch it in from the red zone.

Dropping Jacquiizz after one game is an amateur move. He may be average all year, but you likely drafted him for upside and to expect it week 1 or drop him is a mistake.
