Mike Honcho 5,250 Posted May 5, 2013 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5fPSkTvjmY LMAO at Ice-T doing the rap in that. Sort of sad that gangs settle there issues today with guns rather than intricately choreographed dance battles.

BunnysBastatrds 2,408 Posted May 6, 2013 Not sure if these qualify as cheesy, but Sid and Nancy and River's Edge were good ones. The River's Edge creeped me the fawk out. I knew a few acid heads in HS that acted just like the killer. That movie had people pointing fingers at a lot of weird people because of that movie in HS. Dennis Hopper in his prime for Blue Velvet. "Fawk Henican!!! Pabst Blue Ribbon!!!!!!!!!!!" Spring Break was cheesy but a good microcosim of what srping break was like in Florida.

RLLD 4,191 Posted May 6, 2013 Fast Times at Ridgemont High ...... I still spank to Phoebe Cates exiting that pool
patweisers44 840 Posted May 6, 2013 I would argue that this movie more than almost any other dawned the era of the "soundtrack CD". Best soundtrack I can think of. Absolutely. It was awesome. When Loudon Swain was in the warm up room before his match with Shute, and Lunatic Fringe started playing, it actually made me want to wrestle. Lots of great songs in that movie. I would go back a little further to the Big Chill and Fast Times at Ridgemont High, but all three have great soundtracks. ETA: Just looking at the Fast Times Soundtrack, four members of the Eagles had solo songs on the soundtrack. Useless information for $800 Alex.
The Moz 69 Posted May 6, 2013 Fast Times and Private School - 2 films with the rare chance to see a neekid Phoebe Cates shot. I thought the 80's was actually one of the better movie era's maybe not as good as the 70's but still solid IMO. It's only "cheesy" now as back then it wasn't granted there was some bad films but some really good ones as well.
DankNuggs 305 Posted May 6, 2013 Not sure what year it was, but let us not forget "Summer School" with Mark Harmon and some uber hot chick that was later on some sitcom with (imagine this) a stupid, fat white guy. - Something "jim". She played jail bait. And it was a pretty damn good movie. for being a bad movie. There were a couple of other smokin' hotties on there too. "My zipper got stuck!" That movie was a classic. Courtney thorne something was her name. Ski School was a good one too, but it was 1990 as I see from IMDB.

patweisers44 840 Posted May 6, 2013 You didn't like the outsiders? Was a great movie at the time, but doesnt hold up well. NewbieJr 541 Posted May 6, 2013 Was a great movie at the time, but doesnt hold up well. Told my kids how great it was recently, rented it and tried to watch it with them but we were all like about 30 minutes into it. I don't know if I agree that it doesn't hold up. It was an 80's movie, but the storyline took place in the 60's. The book was from 1967. It's a story about two different socio-economic classes in a small town. That's still relatable today. It also involves supposed 'bad kids' who really have a good heart. Another timeless story line. I'm obviously not arguing the fact that your kids didn't like it. But I don't think that is because it doesn't hold up. Maybe they just didn't like it. Personally, I think it's an all-time classic. They are reading it in a lot of schools these days. I will say for an early 80's film it was maybe the most star studded cast of any 80's movie ( for 80's actors) Swayze, Cruise, Dillon, Lowe , Estevez, D Lane, CT Howe , Macchio , etc.

My kids are so sheltered from any sort of caste or class system its not even funny, so thats probably why they didnt care for it. The world they grew up in is light years away from the one i did. Perhaps i have forgotten where i grew up as well and thats why i dont care for it as much now.
