***The Official Seattle Seahawks IN-Season Thread 2014-15***

Recommended Posts

To this point, Seattle has more total yards gained on offense than St Louis yet trail 21-3. Penalty yardage, special teams, and an illegal touchdown on a punt return can really impact a game. Lynch has no room to run. Time for Wilson to drop back and sling it. No other choice.

Nothing about that punt return was illegal. Just because Pete was crying about a fair catch doesn't mean there was anybody calling for a fair catch.

You are insane. Completely insane. How could you possibly think I'm wearing rosy colored glasses, based on that post, or any post EVER in a Seahawks thread? I'm stating statistics. And when you signal for a fair catch to throw off a defense, it's 15 yards.

Hi, I'm phillybear. Have we ever met?

To watch this game and come to the conclusion that Seattle is playing better ball is insanity. Fair catch signal aside (I missed that so I don't even know what you are talking about there)

and I am totally pulling for SEattle

Not having Harvin is allowing an all out jailbrake of the front 8

The Rams have 112 yards of offense, lead 21-6 at the half, and I think that to deal with my utter disgust and intense anger, I'm going to get drunker.

Later.

Until the NFL issues an apology on Wednesday for blowing the call.

Come on, man. I never said Seattle is playing better, because they aren't. I said they were out gaining St Louis in total yardage yet trailing, which means the game is a bit flukey. St Louis special teams led to 2 TDs. Seattle is getting killed in penalty yardage too. That's not the norm in most NFL games.

My frustration is overflowing right now.

Nah, in the world of Seattle, only thing that matters is the accusation, not accuracy. I think I saw the play and I didn't see a fair catch signal, maybe they were showing the wrong guy?

The misdirection. The guy at the bottom of the screen clearly signaled fair catch. Another player, at the top of the screen caught the ball and ran it back for a TD.

Nope, you're wrong. He never signaled anything.

Disagree. I have no dog in this hunt, but I just saw the play. He didn't signal, but acted like he was gonna catch it then feinted falling down. Never seen anything like it.

Deceptive? Yes.

Illegal? No.

I'll have to catch a highlight of the play. My eyes must have been lying to me. The announcers seemed to indicate a fair catch was called for as well.

I'll revisit the topic down the road.

Carry on.

Hawks special teams coordinator should get canned after this debacle. Rams deserved the win though. I was worried coming into this game and am definitely still worried. O-line has Wilson running for his life every play, and that's not sustainable

No doubt. Hawks' Special Teams were deers in headlights. not once, but twice. I don't know if it was Quinn gettting free lanes to harass Wilson or if it was the horrid O line.

Nonetheless...game ball to STL coaching staff. Also impressive was Tre' Mason gouging up yardage today

I feel sick to my stomach right now. 4th and 3 on your own 18 with 3 minutes to go and you fake punt? Are you f'n kidding me!!! If thats incomplet, we down the ball 3 times and kick the fg to win. I still don't believe they did that.

Then, after the kick to the nuts that god gave me. He punched me in the nose and ran away laughing. When after a miracle fumble that richard sherman recovers, somehow the rams get the ball back. And theres no booth review?

Wednesday comes, we get an apology and big f'n deal. We still eat the loss.

The only saving grace is after 8 quarters of misery. The second half of washington. The dallas game. And the first half of this game. The second half of this game, we go 90, 80 and 80 yards for touchdowns. I think we could be out of our funk. I think they get p!ssed off and start taking names next week against carolina.

But for the rest of this week. I'm disgusted right now, I cant believe this was a loss. I cant believe they were tricked, and cant believe they got screwed with no review. This would have been 1 of those really ugly, you just take it and get the h3ll out of dodge wins. And it was flat out stolen. I havn't felt this bad after a game since that POS super bowl 40.

(at the time) The Rams were 1-4, playing the defending SB champs - what in the fock did they have to lose? It's not crazy at all - they went for broke and it paid off.

The Seahawks lost a must win game. The chances of making the playoffs are considerably much, much more difficult now. 10 wins didn't get Arizona to the playoffs last year. Seattle needs to go 8-2 to finish the season. You have to pass either SF or Arizona, plus pass an NFC North team GB/Detr or NFC East team Phila/Dall. Not going to be easy.

No pass rush whatsoever. The defense can't force a turnover at all. Injuries all over the place. Getting 10 more penalties a game than our opponents. But what it comes down to: we won the close games last year, made the key plays. This year, all the close games are slipping away, the San Diego, the Dallas, the St Louis games, all with in reach in the final moments, just slipping away. The defense isn't making the key stops, and offense isn't putting together the winning drives.

this seahawks team is just not disciplined. so many factors, it's hard to pinpoint one thing, but the only constant imo is that Russell Wilson is the real deal.

Ha ha ha ha... this is like watching an old rerun of The Andy Griffith Show. I never seen so many Barney Fife's whining and panicking. Somebody better take away that single bullet in the revolver lol... That wasn't even close to a fair catch. Though he did lift his hand, it never went above his shoulder and he sure as hell wasn't waving it. But what about the fake punt? Or allowing Mason to gouge you for ten yards with the game on the line? Oh my God, can't this team and its fans ever lose gracefully? Oh the gnashing of teeth and crying. Pete Carroll was so agitated on the sideline somebody should have thrown him a pacifier.

In 2000 the Baltimore Ravens were 5-4 going in to Week 10, having just lost three in a row without its offense scoring a single touchdown in any of the three losses. They came back to win a super bowl. Convincingly.

This week is gonna be a very telling week to see where this team is at this season. Carolina is bad, and nothing they have is gonna scare seattle.

the best weapon they have in KB plays into their secondary strength. You put a spy on Newton, and cover Olsen and game over. This should be a 34-10 type win.

Lets see what happens. The season might be riding on it.

Sigh.

If you know anything about the Seahawk fans around here, it's that we are somewhat grounded. We are not blind homers defending our team at every turn, and some of us beat up our team and are hypercritical to a fault. I beat up my team mercilessly for it's flaws. Higher expectations produce higher results. Sure, we poke at other fans from time to time, and get into flame wars when provoked. But we aren't going to tell you every thing is just peachy when you lose on the road to the Rams after your special teams has a total meltdown and gives the game away, right after the whole Harvin fiasco goes down.

 Your team starts Nick Foles but Seattle is overrated. Don't worry, the kinks will be ironed out enough in time to contribute to ongoing Philly misery.

And no excuses on this one. Some boos boos on both sides of the ball, but these are the types of games that need to be won no matter what.

Next to no pass rush has been killing the defense all season. If Manning wasn't so gun shy in the first half because of SuperBowl PTSD, we would probably be sitting at 2-4.

18 carries for Lynch, but I still would have run the ball more.

Still plenty of time to "Circle the Wagons" but you can't be dropping games to the Austin Davis' of the league. Hopefully the rest of the league laughing at them shakes the team up.

So different from last year...

I wonder how realistic the rumors are that the 'Hawks are considering offering a mid round pick, maybe a day 3 pick, to Tampa Bay for Vincent Jackson.

On one hand, his pricey contract kills the salary cap, considering also the cost of eating part of Harvin's contract/bonus.

On the other, I think we are expected to have 11 picks next draft, Jackson becomes the #1, everybody else moves into their more natural role, Jackson is the taller WR they've been seeking, and they expressed interest in trading for him when he was still with San Diego.

:dunno:

I would love to see Jackson in a Hawks uniform but I don't think it's in the cards with Wilson's contract being priority 1, 2 and 3 this offseason.

Wilson's contract will be easy I suspect.

Not only is the cap going up, you will save some money on Harvin, but then you will have money coming off with Carpenter, Okung, Avril, and others. The question remains who they want to resign. I think Avril might be gone now. Bobby Wagner becomes a huge priority as of right now, maybe KJ Wright.

Did you see Cleveland fock over Seattle yesterday? They knew we needed a FB, so they promoted Keiro Small from their practice squad to their roster.

All good points, I forget the cap keeps going up.

And cut the Browns some slack, little chips like this are all they have at this point. Maybe Carroll/Schneider can talk MRob out of retirement again?
