2015 All-Star Ballot Updates...

Recommended Posts

I wasn't saying some don't belong on the team :dunno: I just dont think there is a single all-star starter on that team. Maybe Escobar. Donaldson at 3rd, Vogt should be the catcher. Kipnis should be 2nd. Fielder at 1st. Outfield Trout, Jones and Reddick. Cruz at DH.

I think you're basing that on offensive numbers only, just my .02 KC's defense is focking awesome and no way in hell does Miggy make a play like that at first.

No, just no. Iglesias is not only the best defensive shortstop in the AL, but he also leads AL shortstops in BA, OBP, and OPS.

Iglesias: .329/.379/.409

Escobar: .262/.293/.354

You may be exaggerating a touch there (if you break out a replay of Hosmer making a defensive play that required a ton of range, definitely that would make a point). This play is at least as impressive as the one you posted...

tl;dr - Cabrera isn't a Gold Glove at first base, but he uses his glove just fine, and he certainly holds the hitting edge.

If you believe in DRS, Hosmer is worth 2 runs more than Cabrera (7th in MLB at 1B vs 15th) in the field so far this year. It is hard to argue that Cabrera hasn't more than compensated for that at the plate.

I am. Offense counts about 90% of my decision. All-star games need great hitters to go against great pitchers. I don't want great defenders, but horrible at the plate, going against all-star caliber pitchers. So I agree my choices are mostly about offense.

Don't get me wrong I love watching Miggy play and even though I may be a bit biased I'll submit these

I can believe Hosmer is better defensively, but (being first base and all) the numbers don't paint it as an overwhelming difference. Meanwhile, Cabrera has Hosmer covered in BA/OBP/SLG/OPS...

I would argue that Cain's defense pushes him into a starting OF spot. Gordon probably shouldn't be ahead of Cespedes, who is even with him in DRS and ahead of Gordon in UZR, while also covering him at the plate.

Omar Infante gets 2 million votes in one week. But hey, like Ned Yost said...if you don't want his players on the team, vote. Then create another account and vote. Then create another account and vote. Then...

Omar Infante is batting .200

It was cute when you made the WS last yr and lost. Now no one likes you.

It makes a mockery of the whole process. Once it's decided that the fans can't handle it, it'll be taken away from them.

MLB is getting millions of hits on their voting site. I would not say they are displeased.

They seems to be heading down the path to become the P*tri*ts of MLB. I am sure the sponsors love the fact that the site is getting hits and that its becoming a story, because then maybe other fans in other cities will hit the site to try and mitigate the perversion.

It is a shame that this can happen, but the reason it can happen is because MLB built a flawed system to try and be cute and win more sponsor money.

As a KC fan I have not voted nor will I.Infante has no focking business there and unfortunately if he ends up making it along with a couple of the others it'll end up being a joke and imo taking away from the KC players who really do deserve it.

All star game is baseball is stupid now. Baseball is for the most part a one on one game, does it matter if Cain and Trout play in the same outfield. It's about the Pitcher vs Batter. The cool thing about baseball's All star game was watching Randy Johnson from the NL(Arizon) go against AL hitters he would never face. With inter-league play, the novelty is gone. And don't get me started that this worthless game decides home field in the WS---entire thing is a joke and I won't be watching.

Voting is a joke. KC fans voting only KC players = dumb.

Here's your starting 2nd baseman stats.

.210 avg. 0 sb. .292 slg %. .219 ob %.

While I appreciate their dedication to their club, it's going to cost other players who are more deserving. Not counting bonuses $$. It will make the all-star game unwatchable outside the KC market. Thanks KC voters

My stance on the All Star Game will be the same as my stance on Super Bowl halftime shows. I won't watch it, but I will keep a chat feed up so I can see people's reactions to the stupid/crazy/ridiculous sh*t that occurs.

Yes, you are a highly intelligent man, but will the pain be gone in the morning? What are you trying to numb with alcohol? Failure? Lost love? Money problems? Daddy/Mommy? Think about dealing with it another way. A smart guy like you should know that.

MLB Commish "open to change" voting process of all-star selection. Looks like fan voting won't mean as much after this year. Kudos to all the KC voters for ruining the process
