brotherbock 349 Posted September 20, 2015 Which J. Hill are you talking about? Josh or Jeremy? I literally don't know a single person expecting Josh Hill to be significant this season.
BigTexas 0 Posted September 20, 2015 Jeremy, the RB1 who hasn't played in a half. Didn't see the first fumble, saw the pitch fumble. Damn it.
rrmcguire 36 Posted September 20, 2015 Should we be worried about this...he's my RB2 as I get LeVeon back next week but my other backs are J Stewart Vereen Karlos Williams

Hill is still the best RB by far on that team. They struggled without him in the run game today, at least in the red zone.
Mack 1 6 Posted September 20, 2015 Hill is still the best RB by far on that team. Not so fast my friend. Gio gives them a dynamic player in both the run and pass game. I wouldn't be surprised if Gio starts next week. This, by the way, comes on the heals of OC Hue Jackson saying after game 1 that Jeremy Hill left a lot of yards on the field. So as a Hill owner (I missed out on getting Gio as a handcuff), I gotta say I'm a bit worried.
Gipaldo 8 Posted September 20, 2015 Last year I had Gio and got burned by Hill, this year I draft Hill and get burned by Gio
American Chewy 98 Posted September 20, 2015 The first fumble was one of those could have gone either way depending how it was called on the field. the 2nd got him pulled which they were able to do since they had a decent lead. he was getting 5ypc before that. no doubt they are trying to motivate him because it was clear to me with gio they can't run inside or near the gl. Hill will be fine. I'll be worried if it's a multiweek thing but it won't be just look at the first half of last year with gio only. wasn't pretty.
R8RMick 242 Posted September 20, 2015 I'm a big Jeremy Hill guy. But 20 for a buck twenty is getting some cold cuts. Plus Bernard had an 11 yard TD nullified through penalty. Got to keep it real, he outplayed Hill today.

Agreed on all points (except the fumble analysis, I haven't seen them yet). But their short yardage wasn't pretty today after they pulled my man.

tanatastic 2,062 Posted September 20, 2015 People love to forget that as good as Hill was, Gio is good too and more versatile. They are a great combo and should always be working together.

American Chewy 98 Posted September 20, 2015 Have no prob with gio getting 10-15 touches so long as hill gets his 20. If gio gets 20+ he wears down.
Djgb13 2,339 Posted September 20, 2015 Hence why I stayed away this year. Knew there was going to be issues with either one being the main back

brotherbock 349 Posted September 21, 2015 Disagree if you took Hill as a number one rb Bernard is going to hurt you a lot . I'm not convinced just by this one game that Gio is going to hurt Hill owners any more than they already should have planned for. If you drafted Hill thinking he was an uncontested workhorse...yep, you're in trouble. But you would have been in trouble regardless. But if you took him knowing the Bengals would run a lot, and he'd be the #1 guy in a 60/40 or better committee...I don't think this game will change that. Could be wrong, we'll have to wait and see. But I don't think so.

Hill was drafted by many as a number one rb so in some leagues he was a first round pick , so I will stick to my post of you drafted Hill as your number one rb Bernard will hurt you . And I'm agreeing, more or less. Back end of the first round in a 12 team? Maybe, depending on how you went the rest of the draft. He was clearly going to stay in a committee, so yeah, people who drafted him expecting too much are in trouble. I didn't see him going in the first in any mocks or real drafts I did. But even early 2 is a bit high, I think.
Ray_T 753 Posted September 21, 2015 I dont know why someone drafting hill wouldnt also draft Bernard. it makes more sense than having another RB3 or RB4 in your lineup that you may never use. you know Gio will put up some numbers if Hill gets hurt or benched. American Chewy 98 Posted September 21, 2015 I'll wager he finishes in the top 12 in any format making him an RB1. yes I was hoping for higher than that when I took him 1.09 ahead of forte, Murray, McCoy, and cj.

Because u had to reach to handcuff Bernard who went in the 6th in my league. was I going to start both? Or was I going to have a player I wouldn't play drafted that high? No and no. hill is as safe a bet as any to not get hurt and benched well we saw gio can't handle a full load last year so we will see if it's more than a half thing. I say he finishes higher than all those guys. The only one he might not is Forte, but Cutler is out. Also, was he banged up yesterday?

I'm not in a ton of leagues, but no one I know managed to get both this year, because no one wanted to spend that much combined draft budget on two guys in the same committee. Exactly as you say. montana 89 Posted September 21, 2015 Hoping he ends up as my #3 or #4 once I get Bell & Foster back. #3 will be either Hill or Forsett...outside chance L.Murray may join the conversation too.

They struggled without him in the run game today, at least in the red zone. The RB situation is far more cloudy than you portray my friend. Gio will get his work, he is too talented in what he can do. Hill is a totally different back but he will not get the gig alone. If you drafted him in the 1st round you overpaid. Gio is still a very important part of this offense.
