erikthebassist 41 Posted November 5, 2015 Or do they know something I don't? Diggs listed as the #33 WR, meanwhile he's 9th best in the league since being activated. Allen Robinson listed # 19, meanwhile he's #7 over all. Carr listed as #21 QB while Wilson is listed #9 Yeldon is the #27 RB, meanwhile he's 9th over all his last 3 games. I never look at total points, I always look at points per game played if you're wondering where I get this. These are just examples of players I own or have owned. I'm sure there's plenty of other examples. So my question is, are they on crack or am I? These rankings seem completely unreliable to me.

erikthebassist 41 Posted November 5, 2015 RoW has nothing to do with past points. I get that, it's a prediction, but they seem like whack predictions based on the current state affairs no?
Sho Nuff 720 Posted November 5, 2015 They are basing it on their thoughts the rest of the way...if you disagree...that is fine. They are a tool for people to use. You seem to base more on the last 3 games...or your thoughts on a guy since he has been activated. They base it on other things that will affect things the rest of the year (like where would Diggs be ranked if Big Ben would have been healthy the whole time and guys like Bryant and Brown were having more success). erikthebassist 41 Posted November 5, 2015 I understand it's a tool, I can use it or ignore, it's free, all well and good, love this site and not trying to be hypercritical. I'm honestly trying to understand where they are getting these rankings from though. How on earth does anyone think Wilson will be top 10 ROW?
Frozenbeernuts 2,264 Posted November 5, 2015 Carr at 21 is so far off. The only way that happens is if he gets hurt.

Frozenbeernuts 2,264 Posted November 5, 2015 Don't like what you see , turn the channel . Oh so no one is allowed to question the logic behind a few players? Thats really odd. You would think the people who work for this site would want feed back about articles they create. Thanks for clarifying weeps. As always your wisdom is astounding.

General Gannicus 12 Posted November 5, 2015 I was waiting for these rankings to come out this week to try and figure out what trades I'm gonna attempt for the stretch run/playoffs.. I was stunned at a lot of the list and now has me searching other ros rankings to see if fftoday is on an island with a lot of their list or if other sites agree with them, and if it's me that is wrong... They still have Palmer ranked #5 (who I have), but he has a tough ros schedule and I am thinking of making a move for brees with his easy schedule, plus I own cooks, snead, and watson so there's that, yet Palmer at 5 would be fine to use but I just don't see that happening... I also have Lacy but they have him at 25 even though a lot of places are touting him as someone to get on track soon, so 25th seems to be geared towards what he's done to this point and where he may rank end of year, even if he finishes say #9-#15 from here on out.. Jimmy Graham at #3 seems "off" too considering where he is now, it seems like they are not taking into consideration how meh he has been this year overall, so it's like the opposite of how they ranked Lacy... And yeah I'm a Diggs guy too and was stunned they would rank him so low, while other guys are ranked ahead of him who haven't done close to as much on a per game basis... Even someone like Allen Hurns who has close to 700 yards and 6 tds with 9 games left.. So figure he should get at least another 4-5 tds and another 400-500 yards receiving (which is conservative and behind his current pace) meaning he would finish with close to 1100-1200 yards and 11 tds... They are saying there will be 33 other wideouts on a better paace than that, which I just don't see happening unless everything changes from here on out... Even stuff like the Giants defense, which is currently on pace to be the second worst ever, has a top 10 ranking and an up arrow which is crazy.. I know these rankings are just an opinion and not to be taken as definitely happening, I am just questioning why they seem to be all over the place in their thinking which makes these rankings (which I've used many times in the past) less valuable than in the past... Showboat 256 Posted November 5, 2015 Diggs listed as the #33 WR, meanwhile he's 9th best in the league since being activated. Maybe a little lower than I'd expect, but not totally unreasonable. Sure, he's been hot the last few weeks, but look at the Ds he's faced - those get a little tougher going forward. Also, I don't think anyone would consider the Vikes to be a passing game juggernaut - maybe the thinking is that they lean a little more on AD and the run game as the weather gets colder (remember that they are playing their home games outdoors this season). FFK 0 Posted November 5, 2015 Doug Martin at 24th stood out to me, he has some good match ups coming up as well. Almost no one else in that "Tier 3" I'd rather have at this point.
phillygrrl08 139 Posted November 5, 2015 I look at this site and another to get some insights, but I don't necessarily base my decisions on what others say. Take it or leave it; at the end of the day (or season) you are the one paying the entry fee, you are the one drafting and picking players up, and you are the one who sets your lineup. I do a lot of my own homework, but I will still listen to well reasoned ideas. I spent a few hours last night trying to figure out which D has the best matchups weeks 14-16. CLE and HOU each have a week that is good, but I won't keep more than 2 Ds. I'll wait and see what is available later on.
R8RMick 242 Posted November 5, 2015 Raiders have a fairly reasonable schedule ROS, and Carr faces only 3 top 10 passing defenses.
BTL99 34 Posted November 5, 2015 Honestly their weekly rankings/projections are usually crazy too
Crystal Meth Tweekers 26 Posted November 5, 2015 Yeah not in agreement with a lot of these. QB's Luck #3? Wilson #9 Carr #21 RB's Lacy Woodhead is top 10 in any PPR and they have lost Allen? Martin Yeldon WR's Calvin Dez all these guys seem lower than they should. I guess it's just me?

erikthebassist 41 Posted November 5, 2015 Fantasy Football rankings in general are a crapshoot. Just look at preseason rankings and current actual rankings. It's supposed to involve educated guessing and prognosticating, otherwise, it's just bingo with football players. I'd rather play bingo. To me experience and homework is what gives you the edge. It's about being right more often than you are wrong, not about never be wrong.

jmueller44 0 Posted November 6, 2015 FWIW .... I agree that the FFToday ROW rankings seem a bit out of order. Also agree that it is just "one man's opinion."I come to FFToday for the vast majority of my FFL information/rankings. The team here has always served me well (mixed in with my own opinion). However it seems like the ROW Rankings right now do nothing to align with my opinions what so ever. This makes me look for alternative ROW Rankings and am having a hard time finding any.If anyone can show me other websites that have ROW Rankings, I would appreciate it. Kent 228 Posted November 6, 2015 They are in love with Russell Wilson. Shocked they didn't list him at #1.
LaChup 233 Posted November 7, 2015 They must be in love with Mark Sanchez too. It's got to be a bad feeling when a quarterback (Mark Sanchez) who has not played at all this season is ranked higher than the starting quarterback (Nick Foles) of a decent football team. This is either a slam on Foles, an omen for Bradford, or some serious crack smokin' by the author. Which one is it?
TennisMenace 156 Posted November 7, 2015 fair enough but I really wanted a discussion about why some of these predictions are made and the logic behind them. Well, we have some discussion here, but if you meant from the man who writes the paper, I guess he hasn't shown up to defend his standings. I would be interested in reading this myself.
