Question for the republicans

Recommended Posts

Leftist outrage/BLM....

I think there is a a pink elephant in the room that is not addressed which is why conservatives can't get with the BLM movement.

I think police brutality exists, but the there is a much larger problem that everyone is afraid to discuss.

I identify myself as a republican, even though I was born a democrat

fwiw,

I am anti-abortion, however I feel that it is not my right to decide what you do

I am anti-religion, but don't believe that I have the right to tell you what to believe

I am pro lesbian, gay, but anti-trans, its just going to far, and I think we need to draw a line.

I am pro people striving to better themselves, rather than depending on others to provide for them (however I think our no 1 purpose should be to take care of the Veterans and the Disabled)

I am anti-socialism and pro capitalism, I don't feel corporations need to pay more and be forced even further out of the nation by higher taxes, thus eliminating jobs

I am pro military, as it employs so many who otherwise would be out of work

I am pro medical mj

I believe left wing preaches to the right what we are doing wrong, while being hypocrits themselves

alot of my beliefs are very left, but my strongest are very right, which is why I am a Repub

now I was a democrat until 95 ish, when I saw that negotiating with terrorists was the way of the left, rather then just destroying them. Also I don't like that the democrats want more laws, and more government involvement in every decision, rather than leave it to the states to decide

The problem with anyone at all getting behind the blm is that the causes that they champion are not something people care about....ever. A gang banger in Michael Brown who had just shoplifted from a local store, a mouthy mentally ill woman in sandra bland that killed herself and it's somehow the cops fault, the kid in Chicago that pointed a gun at the cops and they killed him.

When your average person sees these people as the standard bearer for the cause the blm is immediately disregarded as a farce.

Shouldn't it be #AfricanAmericanLivesMatter instead of #BlackLivesMatter since calling someone black now is considered racist, insensitive and so on?

The trouble is momentum. BLM rallied against some very legitimate police brutality and got some momentum. problem is that to keep relevant you always need the next thing to champion, and i think they've jumped the gun on a number of stories where when all the facts came out, it probably wasn't the best use of their resources. Buts it s a rock and a hard place, if they aren't being active the support crumbles quickly.

I agree with the legit early cases. However crying racism when a black kid pulls a gun on a cop is like crying fake rape. All it does is damage legit claims and casts a shadow of a doubt on any future claims before they even occur. It gives the appearance that the blm does not want justice so much as it just wants to protect black people regardless of wrongdoing.

You've got a point with Michael Brown and it pretty much falls apart from there

its funny the BLM is only supported by like 16% of the population and less than 40% of the blacks

the fight for 15 people are pretty much the same, very few people using social media to make it seem like a big deal

but the jobs are gone not due to higher taxes but because the labor force is so cheap overseas.

corporations want higher profits and don't care about giving jobs to americans.

They don't, they don't have to answer to anyone except the board. It isn't rocket science. High taxes and higher labor costs have them looking elsewhere. If they didn't, they'd be out of business. Please don't act like this is some sort of revelation

Higher labor costs? You say that like is even close. The labor costs they have gone off shore for are cheaper than actual slavery would cost.

I don't understand why anyone and everyone isn't for themselves. I support what's best for me, not what's best for other income level earners, other races, women, or other sexual orientation wants. I sleep well at night.

So I ask the right leaners... What was the moment you though "damn, this is too damn far."

Just curious.

It's not, should I use some trapper keeper kardashian phrases to make it better for you? "Oh my god, those people work for like next to like nothing."

Yep cause they don't have to feed them, clothe them, house them, etc. it's just "here's you 20 cent an hour paycheck"

I don't know any Kardashian references, because of the masculenity and maturity I possess, so I'm not able to provide a rebuttal.

I've picked up on their being a bunch of flighty, shallow, rich, hot chicks with oversized fake asses who collectively made Bruce Jenner give up on women and become a trannie.

Idiotic.... hth .... especially nowadays.

how is it idiotic, how many unemployed people are there in the US? How many people are employed by the military? How many people have successful jobs after they get out of the military that wouldn't have jobs at that level had they not been in the military?

there are still an extremely high number of lower educated Americans who have careers only because they joined the military

There are an extreme number of highly educated people who got their great education and jobs because daddy is rich and hooked up.

so?

So you lump a lot of people in the miltary as uneducated and unemployable, so I merely point out that lots of highly educated and employed people were handed their educations and jobs, and aren't the brightest and the best.

Most Vets I know that are my age (late 40's) and younger have jobs and I can't think of one Vet that has a job that is related to his/her military job. Including myself, my career now is completely different than my job in the Navy. Most jobs in the military don't translate to the outside world. I would think just about anyone who joins the military these days can get a job somewhere else if they wanted. The military doesn't take just anyone anymore.

You really might want to rethink the bolded statement above. How about "there are a some intelligent Americans who don't have or couldn't afford a college degree who decided to join the military because they wanted to serve their country and have a career" ??

its 6 in one half a dozen of the other

I am also in my 40's and most of the guys that I grew up with were Vietnam era kids, whose parents were very anti-military. Most of the kids I went to school with that joined the military around 92, were 2.0 gpa type guys. There were a few intelligent kids who either went to West Point or enrolled in ROTC at chosen college.

Its not neccesarily that the military gets you jobs in your field, but it helps you land jobs period, cause people know that you will work hard, give 100% and do your job to your best, and likely not ruffle any feathers along the way

now there are outliers, but I doubt nowadays many 4.0 students are enlisting in the military

and don't get me wrong, I feel Veterans are the most important people in this country and thank you for your service. It makes you a better man than me, cause its something I wouldn't have ever done

Fair enough. But I'm no better or worse than you or anyone else.

Very common misconception.

It's not new but it is profound. Corporations run the world and they are, by definition, psychopaths. And everyone wonders why it seems like the powers that be don't care about them

Why are they psychopaths? And who are the powers that be? Investors? No..

A corporation has no feelings and it does not care about people. It's only obligation is to the shareholders. The powers that be are the corporations so of course they don't give a flying ratfock about our country or its citizens.

It's pretty simple, really :dunno:
