handbanana 47 Posted December 12, 2016 Dallas ain't going to the superbowl Oh yeah? Who's gonna beat them in Dallas come playoffs? Seattle? They are shat on the road. The Lions? Falcons? Please. The only team with a realistic shot would be Green Bay, which would be WORSE than the Cowboys

SpenceToons 70 Posted December 12, 2016 As someone who started Prescott this week, it was frustrating to see him go back to pass, have a clean pocket for the first 1.5 - 2 seconds of his dropback, and not have at least one hot, open receiver that he could throw to. I could bellyache about how this week's routes needed to be designed better, but the truth of the matter is that the Giants were probably just playing great coverage defense. But if better route designing was needed, then let's get it done for next week, coaches.

nobody 2,691 Posted December 12, 2016 I wonder how long it will take for people to latch on to the fact this was pretty much dak's first ever game north of Tennessee that he had to play outdoors in the cold. Good thing they'll probably have home field throughout

Scary Gary 19 Posted December 12, 2016 The better over all team truly won this game Why have the Giants lost 4 games then? LOL now has beaten the Cowboys twice this season. Really? Where are you getting this info? What's the next breaking news you're going to share? LOL
Scary Gary 19 Posted December 12, 2016 Romo should have been starting. Dak looked horrid. The offense looked horrid. That being said, unless you go undefeated, when you lose, generally you look horrid. The 92, 93 and 95 Cowboys looked absolutely horrid a few games. Just sayin. Dak took sooooo long to make a decision. Nearly every pass play looked like this: drop back....look...look...look...dodge a would be tackler/avoid pressure, then throw a poor pass, usually 2 yards down field. Dez's issues aren't worth his "every once in a while" good plays. Dez is always "almost" or "not quite" . I'd rather have another Cole Beasley than Dez Bryant. Hopefully they get rid of him at season's end. He's a lazy puke.

jgcrawfish 232 Posted December 12, 2016 Here are my thoughts: -Spagnuolo is the Giants game MVP. Perfect defense plan. -The Giants defense is a bad matchup for the Cowboys because their front guys are very good at both getting pressure and tackling, so the Giants don't have to dial up a lot of BIG blitzes. They get pressure with 4 and occasionally bring 5. -The defense did an incredible job of tackling Zeke, guy got basically nothing in the extra yards department. -The Cowboys receivers are "average" at best, and the Giants have 3 pretty good cover guys, and a good safety. Not sure what's wrong with Dez, although I think a large part of it is attributable to Giants generating pressure on Dak, who got a case of the yips and didn't have time to get the ball to Dez. -The Giants offense is still pretty much just OBJ. Manning isn't a very good QB right now, their run game is bad and their WR corps is pretty much non-existent behind Odell) -The Cowboys are a very solid team, but can be beaten if you play mistake-free football. Their defense is a bend-don't-break kind of opportunistic group, but they won't win games for the Cowboys. -The Giants DID NOT play mistake free football last night, but their defense played so well it bailed them out. -Dallas needs another year before you can talk about them winning a superbowl, IMO. Edit: one last thing, the Cowboys might actually be better with Romo. As the weather gets worse and the intensity of playoff atmosphere football gets ratcheted up, Romo has WAY more experience, and is a better thrower of the ball. Dak gives the Cowboys the best chance to win in the long run, but I think Romo makes the Superbowl favorite if he's healthy.
Cruzer 1,995 Posted December 12, 2016 * Not upset we lost, I suspected we would.... Said all week, NY is a damn good team - and are a really bad match up for us. * I am upset on how we lost... Very, very concerned with how Dak (and our skill guys) performed in the cold weather. They seem to really struggle with it - thank Gawd our next 2 are at home. * Surprisingly happy with how well the defense played - where did that pass rush come from? * The Giants had better replace E. Flowers - he's going to get Eli killed. * Dak is catching a lot of heat for holding onto the ball so much. You can thank the NY secondary for that - they were all over and blanketing our wrs. We had no separation - Dak ate those balls to avoid picks. * Did Marinielli and crew not watch ANY tape this week? Hell - I could of told you NY loves to drag ODB over the middle, right off the line. He's scored what, 3 or 4 tds on that play this year already? He burned Philly on it on an identical play. Cowboys fans - focking relax. We're still 11-2, at home for the next 2 - and control our own destiny. We weren't going 15-1, it happens... Some losses serve a meaningful purpose - this one could be just that. He missed a wide open Witten several times. Garrett said himself that Dak missed several reads. Partial blame goes to the playcalling on offense though. Dak can't convert 3rd and long. Dak wasn't not playing his best in the pocket. Looked a bit rattled. Was running backwards instead of stepping up.

He faced some adversity, and they now have some tape they can look through and identifying the learning opportunities. You don't like losing, but sometimes you have to take a step back to learn what you truly have in someone, and what you need to do to get them to become their best.

I'm not sure what play calling you blame when your wrs can't get free. But I was troubled by the fact Dak does not appear to throw a cold ball well. Maybe this was his 1st ever cold game - I don't know. But he looked like he had no control over his release.

Once again, they were calling long developing plays. 5-7 step drop back with deep routes. We should've had 3-step drop back passes with the ball getting out of Dak's hands quicker. WR screens to Beasley. A few more quick pass plays to Dez to get him involved. Stop brining in Dunbar on 3rd downs. Get Zeke involved in the passing game more. We should've ran to the outside a bit more. It was our worst offensive game plan of the year, no doubt about it.

Yea - I was pretty frustrated with 2 things: 1 - We never attacked vertically in the air... Part of it was NY's secondary was on us like glue, the other - I just don't think they trusted Dak to deliver a cold ball with any accuracy. 2 - That Dak didn't utilize his legs more out of the pocket. It was crazy - had you told me the defense would hold Eli to 10 points, I would of given you 8 points and felt damn good about it.

Not to mention the 3 turnovers, and multiple sacks we got. We squandered away some really good field position too. As it was said above, let's just hope this is a bit of a wake up call for everyone. Scary Gary 19 Posted December 12, 2016 You're a funny guy! Not that you're a clown and you amuse me, but that you make me laugh. About Dez? He's not a play maker. Trading him wouldn't hurt. What would it hurt? His clutch drops would decrease? His 2 catches for 21 yards games would decrease? His quitting during the game would decrease? I see all of those things as good things. I think the key to the game was New York's 31 rushing attempts. They may have only gained 3 yds per, but controlling the ball on the ground is a huge part of their game. The TOP was pretty much even, and that ISN'T conducive to the Dallas game.
BronxNarrowback 7 Posted December 13, 2016 G-MEN ….was an ugly game but very good defensive play. Eli looked rattled, probably cause the oline is decimated and couldn't block 80yr old women….McAdoodoo needs to change things up…get more people into this offense, run more screens, play actions…something for Jaysus sake…..But i will enjoy giving the Cowboys their 2 Lss…..especially when i work with a bunch of their bitchy azz fans. Plus won my 1st round playoff …

They may have only gained 3 yds per, but controlling the ball on the ground is a huge part of their game. The TOP was pretty much even, and that ISN'T conducive to the Dallas game. True... I also really started to wonder - has Dak never played in a cold weather game? I mean seriously, he looked like he had no grip, control or zip on the cold ball.... And I still don't know why he didn't run with it more. My gosh, when NY is sending everyone and the kitchen sink thru the gaps and at Zeke - the back side has to be open. Maybe not all the time - but damn, pull it and use what the good Lord gave you. But like I said, some losses serve a purpose. I was getting worried this team was feeling a little too good about itself - we needed a reality check. With our own destiny in our hands - we can play the rest of our meaningful games indoors, as long as we take are of biz.
